Hello! I've been searching for hours now for a tutorial to create a matching mini game in MV but found nothing.

I'm trying to create something similar to "Pocket Mirror" matching game with Fletas and MC and was wondering if there is such a tutorial out there or is there anyone out there who can help solve my issue. I'm relatively new at RPG Maker so if somebody does help please explain the steps in detail otherwise I'll get lost in the process >///-///<

And here's an example of what I'm looking for: https://youtu.be/bLDLgPZYBAs?t=54s

I want two rows of 6 or a total of 12 cards laid out in front. The MC will pick and there opponent will choice either after or before. What I would like to do is to make the opponent pick a different card every time the player plays ( so randomized ). This will make it more interesting and less predicable. Also I would like to randomized the card lay out so it would be less predicable.

Thank you for taking the time to read this////

This is definitely way too complicated for a newbie like you.

I suggest you brush up on switches, variables, conditional branches, AND how to use pictures. This is definitely something that can be evented, but it takes experience to know how to do it. What have you tried to do so far?

@Celianna Yeah I'm sure it is but I want to make this interesting ahaha///

I've done plenty of switches so now I'm learning variables. And for pictures do you mean making them appear on screen cause if so I've done that...

I've mainly used them for character bust graphics.

I'm going to be building something similar to this in the near future using eventing, but I don't believe it will have all of the features you're looking for here. :\

Also, I'm unreliable due to health issues so waiting on me would be ill advised...

Well, you would have to use the variables tied with the pictures, make them 'move' when they're selected, remember where the cursor is, show the backside card, which turns into the actual card, remember which cards are which (variables again), and then even event the AI of the NPC (again, variables).

Like I said, you can event this, but as a newbie, it's out of your reach. Why not try something simpler? Or play the Variables Guide (it's for Ace, but applies to MV as well).

@kearstin1199 I would take Celianna's route here because the other huge problem is that I'm not talking about making a plugin, but a big, ugly pile of event scripting that's even going to confuse ME when I come back to look at it the next day (yes, even with comments explaining what everything is).

Plus, the one I'm designing doesn't do half of what you described, either.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
