Im really stuck right now making an rpg. I have this one area made up of its own tiles. I wanna make a shop, so I build one in that area. I make the inside of the shop, then on its exterior, I make a door leading inside. When I use the door on the outside, I do end up where I want inside, but I cant move to any other tiles. I dont see any other people talking about this issue...

When the player stand, can he still turn but not move, or can't he turn?

1) can turn -> passability of your tileset or map is wrong. Check if your tileset has a star on the first B-tile, and that the tile you're using for the floor is not a wall or so.

2) cannot turn -> you have an active autorun, search for it and switch it off

I've moved this thread to VX Ace Support (I'm not sure how you came to be able to post in Tutorials). Please be sure to post your threads in the correct forum next time. Thank you.

Sorry for posting in the wrong area. Andar, are you saying that my B tiles MUST have a star in there? I can turn to face other directions, but I cant move. I'll try to get some screenshots up here.

The upper left tile of the B set will need to always be a star, else passabilities would get weird.

The fact that you can turn (and probably access the menu) confirms that it's not an autorun event that's causing your problems, and is almost certainly a passability issue.

Your top left tile in B MUST be a star. Absolutely. No negotiating here. If it's an X, you will not be able to walk on most tiles. If it's an O, you will be able to walk on most tiles. The top left B tile cannot be used for a piece that appears on the map - even if you have something in there, you'll never see it.

This is the "empty" tile and although you don't paint with it, it is used on every tile on your map where you haven't used another tile from the B-E sets. It is also the "erase" tile, which you can use to get rid of unwanted B-E tiles that you've drawn. You should never use any other "empty" tile to erase, as that could cause other kinds of passability issues.

Oh, wait. I found the autorun. I had to make a new event page with "erase event" on it only, with that being triggered by a self switch on the previous page. Thanks for the listing. :guffaw:

Actually no need for erase event on the 2nd page, just make it action triggered and blank, it wont do anything.

And, as we already said, if you can turn in different directions, it's NOT an autorun that's causing it.

Your autorun event would have deleted itself shortly after the map loaded, so it was NOT being processed at the time you had control and were trying to move.

Interesting that you didn't say whether changing that event solved the problem, and whether you had a star as the passage setting on tile B or not, or had changed the setting. I don't know if the problem has been solved or not, and whether your Tile B is set correctly or not.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
