Okay, so basically I was in the middle of playtesting my game when I realized that the other party members weren't following the main character. Assuming that I had just accidently ticked "party walks in a single file" off, I continued playtesting. I then went into a cutscene, and NONE of the party members were there. My main character was basically talking to themselves. I had used separate events and define movement route for each member. A few weeks ago it was working fine, only recently it has started acting weird. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Help for the makers goes in the Support forum for the appropriate maker.

Assuming you're talking about Ace because you haven't actually said (yes, your profile says Ace, but many people are using more than one engine and their profile is out of date) - do you actually HAVE extra party members?  If you go to the menu, are they there?

You cannot control your party members in cutscenes unless you either turn off followers and use events to represent them, or you use a script that allows you to manipulate the followers.  In the first case, even if you have followers turned on in the system tab, there is a command to turn them off again, and if you've done that anywhere, you have to execute that command again to turn them back on.  In the second case, I don't know - it depends on what the script expects you to do when you've finished the cutscene - are you meant to move them all back to where they were, do you run a script call to 'end' the cutscene and put them all back in line, or do they just go back where they need to when you start moving around?  We'd need to know which script you're using.

For starters, can you please post a screenshot of your System tab?

With the cutscene, I took my characters out of the party and at the end of it put them back. I used events to "control" them. I think I can figure out the cutscene, but my main problem is that my party won't walk in a single file line. I checked the Actors tab and alas, they have their sprites.

Can you show the event window, so we can see where you take them out and put them back?  Will probably need a couple of screenshots since it's on start/end of a cutscene.  Don't need to see the whole list of commands, but please include the whole event window in the screenshot (not JUST the commands).

I think this is the first step to getting it working.

Here it is, It's pretty short. For some reason, my characters won't go into a formation. (Btw I fixed the cutscene last night)

Actually, never mind. I just put another event that turns on formation and it works fine (I'm new and I didn't know that command existed XD). It's just really weird how my System doesn't recognize that I ticked "party walks in single file". Maybe one of my scripts are interfering with something? I don't know, it doesn't really matter. Thanks anyways! :D

Maybe it's because you have a pirated engine?

Are the screenshots from your purchased engine?

I got an order number from him and currently have Lunarea check it, so I think he has a legal engine now - but he started development with the pirated version, which can be the source of the problems as the pirated version doesn't have the latest updates and introduced some problems into the engine.

So I suggest we go back to the original problem for now.

Then start a new project with the legal version of the engine, copy over any images and audio files you've added, and copy over all your Data folder.  Don't copy the scripts or plugins - doing so will give you an older, incompatible version.  If you've added plugins, download them and add them again.  Then see if the problem still happens.

In your event screenshots, I can't see where you've turned off followers or turned them back on again.

How many maps do you have?  Here's something you could try ... go into your Data folder and search through all the Map###.json files, for the exact following text (actually it could be in CommonEvents.json or Troops.json as well, so search those too):

{"code":216,

If you find this, note the map id and event id, open that map in the game editor (definitely don't make or save any changes to it in the text editor where you were searching for that string) and see what the event is doing. If there's more than one map, or more than one event, check them all out.  216 is the Change Followers command.

Okay! A LOT of stuff is working now, including the sprites. I guess it wasn't the trial then. My brother downloaded it so I wouldn't know. (He said that it was for a fnaf game and that I could play around with it.) I'll be more careful next time!  :)  Thank you all so much. I'm really sorry that I wasn't using the legal version. BYEE!!

Btw, Does this look like the legal version? It looks different but I just want to be sure.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
time for a new avatar :)
