How do I add a cooldown timer for a common event and where in the event do I add it?

please give a link to the plugin you're writing about, we can't guess which one you're using.

The shown common Event in the Pictures only runs when it is called by an Event.
(Or by some unknown kind of Plugin?)
So i would Guess we need to take a look at that Event and what its code does.
Than we can maybe find an access point to insert a Timer.
Can you show a Picture?

the cooldown would have to start at the beginning of the event with a conditional branch checking a switch. You need to select which switch to use as "in cooldown", it must not be used anywhere else.

The conditional branch checks if the switch is ON. if yes, the command in the branch will be exit event processing.
if not, then you go to the regular code of your jump. proceed through that code as normal, but at the end you add two commands:
control switch "in cooldown" to ON
plugin command for the timer: AddTimer key seconds command
they key is whatever name you want to give the timer (again, don't use that name for any other timer)
seconds is your time for cooldown
command is the command to switch the switch "in cooldown" off as described in the plugin

I'm a bit conflicted. One the one hand, it's quite visually cool to make bodies of water that the player can interact with by going into it. However obscuring the player character from a gameplay perspective is pretty bad. Hmm... There's the option to make the area around the player visible, but then that kind of defeats the purpose of submerging them.
