Well, in first place I need to say that english is not my native language so I apologize if my text is hard to read. :p

Okay, I'm using Yami script for my parallax maps, everything works really nice... But I have a little issue with the walls of my houses, i mean the passability is ok but a portion of the head of my character is still below the walls. I'll post a picture here...

Thanks.

If the house is done as a parallax, the walls shouldn't be on the upper layer.

If the house is mapped, you need this

My house must be in the ground layer? There are 4 layers in Yami's script:

LIGHT

SHADOW

PARALLAX

GROUND

Or maybe walls on the ground layer and the roofs on the parallax layer... Sorry this is my first time triying to do some parallax.

Thanks Shaz.

Anything thats named as a parallax, for example par1-1 will be set above your character. If you want  it to be so that your character can't pass through name it ground. Then while in the editor make any areas the character shouldn't walk through as unpassable.

Basically Yami's overlay's are broken up into 4 parts.

Par- A parallax, your characters will pass under it, like tops of trees or wooden beams.

Ground- Anything else really. Could be flowers, carpets, etc or you could create a stack of boxes in which case you need to mark the areas as unpassable.

Light- Any light effects

Shadow- Any shadow effects.

The ground layer is for everything that should be displayed below the player, the parallax layer is for everything that should be displayed above the player.
That is the difference, and that is the only thing you should care about - do not limit yourself by fixing certain structures to one or the other part (like "walls have to go there" - it always depends on the map and what you want to show where.

Yes, walls should be on the ground layer in most cases - but if you want to map an arcway where the player can go under a part of the wall, then that part of the wall has to go to the parallax layer.

Same with roofs - in a lot of cases they should also be on the ground layer (especially if the player is outside) - only those places where you want the player to be able to go under a roof they should be on the parallax layer.

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:
Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
