Hello everyone, I don't usually join forums or even post much on the internet (just lurk and read but once you get me going, I don't shut up) but since I started my RPG Maker MV game in January, I realize after getting some hours in that I'll probably need help, and what better place than to collaborate than with others that enjoy making and creating art and games at RPG Maker forums? I know little about programming but thanks to the graphical design of MMV, and some very helpful and talented youtube tutorial video makers (SRDude, what a guy!), I've got something on the table.
My work in progress game is codenamed G-City and you can see my progress on my youtube channel

It is currently being designed as a single player survival RPG. It was originally designed to be an online mmo (Doesn't every game maker try to do this? Lol), which got quickly pared down to a survival "arcade" game intended for 3 people, the Shotgun, Hammer, and Axe. (The shotgun protects, the hammer builds, and the axe gathers material) When I realized that online/server support for MV Games is limited (I'm paying attention to Nelderson), and that I didn't know anything about making a game, let alone putting it online (lol), it became a single player game as a proof of concept. I see that the "single map game challenge" exists around here, and I may try to finish this game as a single map shooting arcade game if I cannot get further than I am currently.
I wanted to quickly move away from stock assets and gameplay, and really eliminate the turn-based battle system altogether. Using plug-ins like qmovement, quxios collision maps, yanfly's gridfree doodads, and SRDude's HUD maker, I've been able to do this to my satisfaction. I've lately been having trouble trying to take the projectile's behavior to the next level, and making the axe work as an action weapon with QABS, and have been looking for support and information related to how the game engine works with some or all plug-ins. I'm also taking steps to learn JavaScript on its own, as it seems RPG Maker MV is very powerful in this regard to allow the Developer to do almost anything (provided they know what they're doing!)
From this post I plan to read every MMV forum post I can find related to action battle systems, and adding and modifying functionality with plug-ins and custom javascript. I welcome any of you to contact me with questions, critcism, or comments on my work, or to SHOW ME WHAT YOU GOT if you're working on something similar. I can be reached on discord at Charles#1265
See ya around!
