I think they should make a game that comes with the editor.

Do you think they should make a game that comes with the editor with all the recourses in it?

I think the people who made this editor should make a game that comes along with the editor with the resources they made for it
I mean Come on. They have all these monster, actors, title sets, and music that they made for it.

Do you think they should do that?

The reason they don't include one WITH the software is most likely because of two reasons.
1: file size
2: there are TONS of free to download rpg maker games on the official website, some are paid and some are free.
So why include it with the rtp if anyone has access to them at any time anyway.

Right now, with people buying demos for other engines and then trying to sell them on Steam for $$$ with no changes made to the demo whatsoever, I highly doubt any engine is going to include example games anymore in all honesty.

RPG Maker has little barrier to entry as is, and as Skunk mentioned before me, there are plenty of games and tutorials out there where it would just be completely redundant.

The engine isn't bought because people want to play an RPG- it's bought so they can MAKE one.

Discussing what comes with the software does not really belong here, so...

Are you prepared to pay extra for the engine in order to employ someone to make something that is easily available elsewhere? Speaking personally, I see no point in adding a game. Just playing it will not teach you how to make one more efficiently. Just doing a copy/paste of e.g. eventing will not help you understand how it is done so that you can use that info in other situations. You would still have to do the same things as you currently can do with free, unencrypted games.

I think they left that part to you. You can make your own game that comes with your version of RPG Maker and even sell it!

If they made a sample game that used all their own RTP it would take away that experience from you and instead you would now have to judge whatever you do with this industry made mainstream game that could add a lot of pressure on your own ideas.

I think that a tutorial game explaining the basics of the engine would be neat.

At the end of the day you would still need to read up on the documentation besides the're tons of youtube video tutorials which I think work out better than a confusing drawn out tutorial game.

I personally hate YouTube videos. You can't follow your pace, but the video pace. You can't read well what's written in the video in most cases. You can't go back to a certain topic to review the info you want... Well, YouTube videos have a lot of drawbacks that written and example game tutorials doesn't. In my honest opinion, a tutorial example game would be great for newcomers.

Plus, let's not forget the fact that sometimes the youtube videos are flat out wrong. It has happened where someone has posted "But I did it like the tutorial says on youtube" but the method on the video on youtube is incorrect.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
