So I'm fairly new to this whole RPG maker thing, and I tried putting a script in my game- nothing too big, just something that would let


you have balloon icons pop up over your followers' heads. But when I try using it in an event, I always get the error:


Script 'Game_Interpreter' line 1411: SyntaxError occurred.


unexpected tINTEGER, expected ')'


def balloon_followers(0,0)


This is the script


class Game_Interpreter
def balloon_followers(index, balloon)
character = $game_player.followers[index]
if character
character.balloon_id = balloon
end
end
end

And basically I just copied that into an event thing and replaced index, balloon with 0,0.


So, uh, could someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

where exactly did you put that script? And what is the command you gave in the script box?


Script editor and script box/command are two different things, and the script you listed belongs in the script editor, but the error message is one you'll get if you place the wrong commands into the script box.


I suggest you follow the link "how to use a script" in my signature to learn more about how to use scripts.

I am so, so sorry to pester you again but I'm really, really stupid and really can't figure out how to work this >.<


This is for VX Ace, and erm, I got the error thing to stop popping up, but I tried putting in the balloon_followers(0,0) command into


the script box and it just did nothing, as if it weren't there.


Help please? :(

we can only help you if you tell us exactly what you did.


Where exactly did you place that script, and did you start a new game after installing it?


And please give a screenshot of the event where you used that command (full window, we need all the event data)

You set the balloon ID to 0 which won't show anything.


Balloon IDs start from 1 to whatever number of rows your balloon spritesheet got.


Btw, how did you do that little code box thingy? Looks cool! *-*

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
