I updated a project and can no longer playtest?

So Yanfly came out with a new plugin, that would just make my mapmaking so much better. The catch was, I needed 1.3.1. Which I didn't have because I dunno. I download it, follow all the steps to update my project. I go to playtest, and I've been sitting on a black screen for 15 minutes. I DO HAVE A BACKUP! My Last Resort solution is to just give up on trying to update my project to 1.3.1 and not use the GridFreeDoodads. Can anyone help me?

It could be a couple of things. Where in the plugin list did you place it? Have you updated all your plugins such as the yanfly core? It may be plugins need updating with it. Or it could be in the wrong spot in your plugins. It should be in your utilities plugins near the bottom according to the yanfly website.

It's not anything to do with the plugins. It's my RMMV. I updated to 1.3.1 and updated the project, and now I cant playtest it. Even if I turn off the yanfly plugins, it just sits on a black screen ;-;

You made sure to bring over the updated files, including the index.html?

I've had this issue before. The only thing I think could be wrong is some of the files corrupted maybe  . I really don't know.

I did all that and all it did was like remove all my plugins blegh

Go back to your Backup, then, and do the update correctly. There are 4 steps, all of which are important.


In the updated NewData folder, identify the 'index.html' file. Copy this into your Project folder, over-writing the one already there.


In the NewData/js folder, identify and select all of the '.js' files except for 'plugins.js'.  Copy these into your Project/js folder, over-writing the ones already there.


In the NewData/js/ folder, identify and select the 'libs' folder. Copy this into your Project/js folder, over-writing the 'libs' folder already there.


In the NewData/js/plugins folder, identify and select all of the files and the 'unofficial' folder in there. Copy these into your Project/js/plugins folder, over-writing all in there.


Your Project is now updated to 1.3.1.

• replace them with the folders of your project updated
