Ok, so I have known about RPG Maker for years, but I am just now taking a much closer look into the community because it is fascinating.

I have been composing classical, baroque and RPG-style music for years and I would like some of my music in a game someday.

This might be a stupid question so please forgive me, but can you compose music from within any of the RPG maker games or are these only for making the games and not the music?

I compose my own music using various DAW's + Reason, but I'm also curious what DAW's or music softwares are popular to use for RPG music specifically?

I would appreciate any advice and thanks!

It is not possible to write music from with the RPGMaker engine, all you can do is tweek the pitch and volume of an existing track.

EDIT
You might find this forum useful. If I remember correctly, there are several threads discussing music making software.

EDIT AGAIN
Now I think about it, that is probably the best place for this particular thread too.

I think any DAW that you're comfortable with would work fine to compose in. I would recommend listening to the soundtracks of your favourite RPG's for inspiration, additionally limiting yourself to a small bank of sounds might help you get started.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
