I'm sure I've always had scripts for this in the past, but is there a way to set a terrain so it's treated as an ice floor? Or does this require a plugin?

I love having the slippy-slide floor puzzles where you can't stop until you hit something, then whatever direction you move in, you slide that way.

Can this be done with minimal events? Is it now a terrain option? Or is it better with scripts/plugins?

Have you seen this done in the earlier makers? I'm sure there'd be tutorials on it somewhere.


You should be able to do something with a parallel process event using variables to store the player's x & y coordinates and grab the terrain tag, then do a conditional branch based on what's in there.


If you can find an Ace tutorial, I'm thinking MV will work pretty much the same way.


Disabling the mouse control while on that surface might be an issue.

Well again, I'm pretty sure it was by means of a script that utilized the tileset terrain tags.

Small tutorial:

1. Install YEP_RegionEvents

2. choose a region Id and set the value to a common event id

3. go to the common event

4. put this script in the event: $gamePlayer.moveForward();

5. be happy

hi, i was looking thru ur awesome stuff, and was looking around the internet, how in the heckin heck do i get the hiddendoors to open? im addng them to the doors event but they just appear as solid walls, btw am total noob lol
