I have a problem with the demo, When i choose add on the crafting orb and try to add something with spacebar it wont let me, It just wont do anything and i cant press escape to leave the add menu please help!

I sry about that, something got messed up in the demo, I have no clue what, I re-uploaded a fixed version try it now.

Back with another query.  I haven't been able to work on my game for a while, so I'm not much further forward than I was before.  On a playtest I went to use the 'recipe' section on the menu.  This was before using the recipe, but as it is discovered=true, it should be there.  However, before opening the recipe screen, I got this error message:

Script'Iconic crafting system' line 1398: NoMethodError occurred

undefined method '[]' for nil:Nil Class.

I can use the recipe no problem, I just can't check what the recipe is before using it.

EDIT

Same error message even after using the recipe.

Hi I know some of you have been having some problems with my script, I am sorry to say my PC is broken right now so I won't be able to fix anything. I have no idea when I will be able to get my PC fixed to but in the mean time feel free to try and fix it yourself or have another scriptwriter look at it. I apologize, but right now its out of my hands.

So since I'm working with this script I thought I'd post solutions to my problems real quick to help other people for now. Please note I'm not really any good at scripting, I just know one thing or two:

Alright, I got this too and I figured a way around it, basically the script sets if a recipe has or hasn't been discovered at the start of the game.
So the only thing you can do is start a new game.

Also, my game freezes if I put a recipe to :discovered => false,

but it works perfectly if I make the setting :discovered => 0,

(And I also found out that both saying 'true' or '1' works... )

Okay, nevermind still seems to freeze when I click recipe, I don't know.

Thanks for this.  The problem with this solution, though, is that I specifically do not want all the recipes to be 'discovered' at the start of the game.  Searching for the recipes is an integral part of the story line and game play, so by definition, I have to use 'false' except for a couple which are indeed there at the beginning.

I started another thread on this to see if anyone could help, no one has come up with anything, but in doing that I discovered a few things.  I could take a brand new recipe, insert it in the script, and as long as it was numbered 1 to 6 inclusive, things would work.  No matter what recipe I put in as recipe 7, I got the error message.  So it isn't the fact that the recipe wasn't there at the beginning of the game, it seems to be the number of them.  In addition, though, the cursor in the recipe section of the crafting menu wouldn't scroll down below the second recipe.  Weird.

It's a shame that this can't be fixed. I really enjoy this crafting script and I've finally used it enough to understand it, but every time I make discovered => false, my game freezes when I try and go to the recipe tab in the crafting menu. I see others are having difficulties with this as well. Is there any update on this?

I have an inquiry about adding recipes to the Formula Book.  I was previously using Kread-EX's synthesis script (and was having so many problems with it I just said screw it and decided to look into finding another one), and I have it set up that the player can find key items that give them access to new synthesis recipes.  Is it possible to incorporate a script call or something that would make the recipe appear?

For example, one item that can be made is a Ruby Pendant, which would lower damage caused by Fire attacks.  It's made with a Gold Ingot and a Ruby, both of which are just synthesis items.  To make it the player would need to find a recipe card that unlocks the recipe.  Is there a way to do this?

i'm having a problem with this. I don't have any armor or weapon recipes, and when I select weapon or armor to craft it gives me an error message. Is it because I don't have any weapon or armor recipes because it works fine for items, and I have item recipes. I don't plan on ever having to craft weapons or armor, so is there a way just to take them off the menu? thanks for you help in advance.

I can't figure out where the crafting menu is! I've tried both scripts, (This website and rpgmakervxace.net or whatever the other one is) but neither work!

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
