Sooooo.
WOW this community is huge, jees. Just wanted to let you guys know. )_(

I'm super excited to start working on RPG Maker MV again! I did it in the past, but like, I didn't write storylines, didn't use plugins or custom tiles.Heck my maps were so ugly!

I'm still developing my skills in rpg mv. Making random maps, events and skills.
Personally I'm best at writing stories and dialogue. Mapping is a skill in development and I have no skill in pixel/normal art or plugins. I can do eventing, but that's just the more you do it the better you become at it.

I watch video's all the time on what to do and how to do it in rpg maker mv and I already learned a lot! :D
Sooo... expect me to be more active on here I guess.

I do require some help with some basic plugins I really have to use. Some basic ones that really improve the game, combat system or make development a lot easier.

Thaaaanks in advance and I see ya'll later

My tips:
1. start to make a minigame with the "base assets" without use the plugins
2. start to make a minigame with custom assets using the plugins
3. make your own game. Nice & Cool.

Mv is a great engine!

Welcome back to the community, RPG Maker has always been one of the best ones out there.
I learned a lot of my mapping by watching other peoples projects, seeing what the comments were like and studying the screenshots of those that were highly praised. Then it's all about practice, practice.
Same goes for learning events, and variables. You just have to make small games, then gradually grow, adding in puzzles etc to learn.
Then eventually you will have learned enough of the engine that you will be able to achieve most anything, within the boundaries of the engine of course.

Yes yes indeed! The minigame idea is really cool Imma do that for sure! I have been looking at many maps already, but @Aspetra I would love it if you could share some of your own maps of others that you really like with me (Possibly in a personal conversation if that's a thing on this forum) as I really wish to learn, especially villages and castles are very very very hard to do.

I do not normally save others work, but here is screenshots from the game I am currently working on.

A lot what makes a map work, is to keep it the size of what you need to achieve. If you cannot fill a map up with everything you want to do, then make the map smaller. Same goes for houses, keep them small, condensed, not too much open space, as for that creates wasted space and boring exploration.

That looks so amazing! Every day I get to realise how limited I'm using MV....
(Once you're annoyed you can just say it)
but is there a way to like have a custom texturepack without replacing all the rpg mv tiles? aaand How do custom sprite characters work, like can you just put them into the game or do they require some modifications. (So if you don't use the generator)

I promise, last question for a short period of time that I will not express in numbers for obvious reasons )_(

You can through using graphic software (GIMP, Photoshop, or my personal favorite tool Game Character Hub, and other tools I may not be aware of.) by using those kind of tools you can create custom Tilesets, or even add on to the RTP ones using art that other artists have created for public use.

I am not an artist by any means, and those screenshots use tilesets from a soon to be released graphics pack called Omega Modern Pack that will be available on the RPG Maker store and Steam as a DLC for MV, at some point. They are created by the same artist that creates the Time Fantasy packs, which I can also share pictures of in use as maps. (Just not as many because I have not created a game with that set, just some basic maps)

I have been using RPG Maker since 1996 so I have a pretty strong understanding of how to use it, so do not worry about asking too many questions, I will gladly help to the best of my ability.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
Yay, now back in action Happy Christmas time, coming back!

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? No-one c
