If Kingdom Hearts get a Switch Port, I will cry.

So last year I was questioning if I should buy a PS4 or Nintendo Switch. I wanted to support Nintendo but didn't fully trust their new console since the launch lineup was poor except for Zelda and the console got lukewarm reviews. I was also afraid that it would end up as another Wii U, whose purchase I heavily regret to this day. So I went PS4 and saved the Switch purchase until the holidays when Mario Odyssey came out. Why? Kingdom Hearts 3. I got into the series after watching a "top 20 best final bosses" countdown by Black Mage Maverick, then known as MaverickHunterZero98 and seeing Xemnas from Kingdom Hearts 2 in the top 3. I searched the Xemnas full battle on youtube and was instantly hooked, even though I never owned a PlayStation console. I did a ton of research, learning all the lore and the plots of every game. The only available games to me were 358/2 Days, Re: Coded and Dream Drop Distance. (the 3DS version) I heard Days and Coded were not very good so I picked up a used DDD for $80.00 (WTH?) and started playing. I was not confused (until the darkness within darkness cut scene) because I knew the entire plot of all the games. I had a lot of fun and that made me even more hyped for KH3, which around that time got the Jump Festa Trailers aired, which was the first real look at the game. So in short, I got a PS4 ONLY to play KH3. (and the HD remasters) I did eventually get a switch easily on the release date of Mario Odyssey no less. (Good thing I pre-ordered the bundle 4 months in advance!) After the newly released KH3 trailer showing off a Game and Watch mini game, I think this is enough evidence that KH3 might get a switch port, since Game and Watch is owned by Nintendo and KH3 is currently not scheduled to release on the switch or any other Nintendo console. (like it's releasing on the Wii U or 3DS :kaojoy:This is unless Square Enix bought the full rights to the Game and Watch, which I highly doubt. (good ol Nintendo is always ultra protective with their rights since Zelda CDi and the Mario Movie) So how do you feel? Do you regret any purchases you made in the past?

Boy, you be missing out on the fun- first played KH1 as a rental from my (now out-of-business) local video store because absolutely none of the other games there at the time peaked my interest or were all rated M. Glad I rented it- I never looked back after it. I even went as far as to buy to own that copy of KH1. You don't know the truly brutal of gaming until you either try a Dark Souls game, "The Master's Test" quest in MH4U, the KH1 version of good ol' Sephy himself, and let's not forget KHDDD's Julius boss fight in Traverse Town.

Julius isn't so tough, you just have to grind boss re-fight portals until you get the Endbringer. Also you should have the best dodging abillities and have 2 curaga and the rest bloonra. Also playing as Riku and having a full drop meter helps.

KH1 Sephiroth on the other hand...

Yeah, he's pretty much the hardest boss ever in the series. (unless you count Lingering Will/Terra who is probably harder but was Japan Excursive until 2015)

I my opinion, KH1 is the worst in the series since it has
  1. Bland, repetitive game play. (mash x to win)
  2. Boring story.
  3. Sora's voice is extremely annoying and most of the voice acting is bad. (Aerith especially. Yes, it's Aerith, not Aris. Aris was a translation error in FFVII)
  4. Riku was a huge butt
  5. Ansem hijacked the "plot" right near the end. Talk about a giant space flea from nowhere. At least he became a major character later down the road.
Also KH1 is rated E for everyone. All other games in the series (most likely including KH3) have been rated E10+ (everyone 10+) in the US. In Europe, all games except for KH1 were rated PEGI 12+ which for some reason doesn't let anyone under 12 BY LAW to be able to buy, play or SEE 12 rated games until they are 12 years of age. For people who don't know, PEGI 12 equals T for teen. Also I learned that any game that has something the PEGI board deem a negative depiction of a group of ethnic people they will rate it a PEGI 18, even if the game is rated E overseas. The worst part is that there was a game that was like DOOM with swords. It was rated M in the US (appropriately so) meaning that a minor could not buy it in most stores without parental consent. This is completely reasonable since parents are usually with their kids when they go shopping and it's up to the parents to decide what is right for their kids. HOWEVER. in Europe, the game was rated PEGI 18. 18+ is not a stand in for M. Instead it is a stand in for AO (adults only) and is usually restricted to porn games and Manhunt. Only 9 games in existence have been rated AO, causing them to not be sold in any retail stores (Target, Game Stop, Walmart, etc) and are restricted to the Black Market and adult stores that only care about selling porn since that gets them the most cash. Meaning that games with an AO/PEGI 18 rating are DESTROYED in sales and usually cause most companies to go bankrupt unless they do something about it, usually censoring it until it gets an M rating like what happened to GTA San Andras. The creators underestimated the market and europe, and there game sold nothing, causing their great company to go bankrupt all because of PEGI freaking out at a joke with the main character who has a girl stuck inside of him (long story) and some demon lady cracks a joke about the main character being trans. It's time to stop SJWs.

Edit: Sorry for the rant.

Maybe it's just nostalgia speaking but theirs aspects of KH1 I prefer over KH2. KH2 has waaaaay better gameplay, voice acting, graphics and characters, but theirs a certain charm KH1 had that KH2 lacked. I don't know how to put my finger on it, but I think it's how the plot in the first game felt more personal and since Sora was much less experienced, more dramatic. Since people throughout KH2 constantly praise Sora for his heroic feats (and don't get me wrong, the praise is earned), it tended to make the threats of the game seem so beatable and not very threatening. I know I'm probably not making any sense here, but when I got to Xemnas in my recent playthrough, I never got the impression Xemnas was this tough, powerful villain that had to be stopped, I got the impression that he was just another guy Sora was going to defeat, which made his boss fight kind of dull and uninteresting.

For the most part I thought Kingdom Hearts II mixed style and substance wonderfully, but IMO it all fell apart near the end. The last few bosses felt more like big, flashy set pieces rather than straight fights to test your skills. Not helping was the fact that Sora had no real reaction to beating any of the members of Organization XIII. Once he beat them, it was done. It ade the ending feel so underwhelming.

Sorry for rambling. I'm almost done with my first playthrough of KH2 in nearly a decade and I had a lot on my mind about it. My friend is calling me the "Gordon Ramsey of Video Games" for apparently being hard to impress so I take it my opinions don't line up with others.

Yeah KH1 is far from the worst in the series. That easily goes to Chain of Memories (whose annoying card deck-based attacks still influence the games today).

@DewottKid Honestly, you might think the story is boring in hindsight (especially since its so convoluted now) but it really shook the scene back when it was first released. Not just because it was this huge crossover event but because it was a work of incredible fun and pure imagination (spaceships made from jelly?!) when games were largely taking themselves too darn seriously and realism was taking over.
Again, Riku might be viewed from an unfavourable light in hindsight but when it was the only game in the series Riku was just Riku (he was also a touch more complex than merely 'a jerk').
Ansem doesn't just show up, he's present the entire game. You pick up his diary pages throughout so you know he's an important figure and from reading them you know he's more informed on the lore (the heartless, the keyblade, etc.) than that little council of evil that Maleficent is running so its no surprise when it turns out he's the big bad all along. But if that's not enough he actually appears as a character several times during the game, as early Destiny Islands.
The voice acting was fine. As fine as it was for the ps2 era. And fine compared to a lot of games since.
Idk what to say about mashing x... that's what you do in hack'n'slashes; you hack and you slash. With x a lot of the time if you use a PS.

Anyways, I'm not trying to call you out. Just explaining why it wasn't a bad game in context. The second is where the series kind of peaked for me gameplay-wise and I've kind-of enjoyed installments since but pretty much everyone I know who used to love the first KH really dislike the direction the games have taken since then; gimmicky enemies, random mechanics, barely coherent plot. So they wont be buying KS3, Switch port or no :3 (and neither will I since I just play on my pc when I pretend I have time to play games)

Now that all the games I like on my ps vita have been ported to steam or the ps4, my vita. But I cant get rid of it because of travel and it being my only mobile console. I would get a 3ds but not many games interest me enough to justify a purchase or the prices of console and games I want.

Same deal with the switch as most of the games I want on it are on the ps4 or the 3ds which makes me want to buy those. Not a fan of mario, new zelda does not interest me, pokemon 2019 eh pokemon in general is eh to me but I appreciate it for being my first rpg, just a bunch of stuff I cant get into or have never liked.

Tldr ps vita

Don't expect KH3, especially if they can't get FF15 on the Switch.
I'm really disappointed they won't release 'The Story so Far' collection on the Switch though. I would think that's a reasonable port.

Codded exists. and that one adds just about nothing to the franchise outside of advertisements for Birth By Sleep and Dream Drop Distance.
I at least like the overarching plot of Chain of Memories.
