Yes, if we decide to move forward with this that is the type of license I will be pushing for.Can someone clarify my question? If I buy the license to RPGmaker2003, will a game I've made with it in the past be able to be comercially released, if all the graphics/music are either custom or RTP edits of mine or resources done specifically for me, like the Evil Dragon King sprite locus did for me once?
Like I've said before, rather than releasing 2k3, I think Enterbrain should focus on adding the features that were in 2k3, but not in VX Ace, to VX Ace.Rm2k3 actually has some functions new makers only provide with scripts, like fog, 8 direction passings settings, and more layer passibilty.
You can do a ton with it, you just can't script. Custom battle systesm, menus and the like need to be evented.
The RTP doesn't really look good imo, but there is an ungodly ammount of awesome ressources around for it, if you don't mind the lower resolution, it's really good, especially if Degia would rework and completely translate a few features.
Personally i wouldn't buy it simply because i got it like 10 years ago, before all the legal trouble came up, it was even published and promoted in video game magazines back then.
Shouldn't really change the fact that that version is still illegal, but hey, things were different back then and you won't just throw something away that you bought once.
Non-rectangular cliffs? What blasphemy is this? This is a 2k3 chipset in ace:

But please be aware that this means nothing currently. It was a side project which is on hold because I'm too busy.
Edit: Forgot to say, I did get 2k/2k3/XP non-animated autotiles working. It was mainly water tiles and then making it more user friendly that was left.
The scripting kind of blasphemy.Non-rectangular cliffs? What blasphemy is this?![]()
But of course that doesn't matter due to the massive number of readily available SNES rips.To be honest. Not really.
Awful stock tilesets and graphics...
