I'm an atcher. I'm better with a bow and arrow than I am with a riffle (sniper scope excluded). Also not including the overdone compound bows people use today.

I'd definitely be a mage. Manipulating the Earth around me would pretty much be the most awesome thing ever. I think it's so appealing because magic doesn't exist. Stupid reality. But that's why pretend is so much fun.

Well seeing as we're in the magical world of RPGs I would use guns. I wouldn't necessarily use them, I just think I would look awesome posing with them. Yeeaaah sexy posing time.

But seriously I would pick greatswords. When ever I first play a game I always go brute force or defense and greatswords are good for that.

A type of blade especially a knife. Knives are pretty underrated in the rpg world, but it makes up for speed and deadly accuracy. I dislike Greatswords because in combat would leave you wide open to counters and medium sized blades I somewhat favor, but find unnecessary.

I'd have to say a longbow. I always thought of myself as a sword wielder, but last year I used a reproduction medieval longbow at a summer festival thing. First time ever firing a bow of any kind and it turns out I'm a bit of a natural.

I missed the target with my first arrow and then proceeded to get 14 shots in a row within the middle three rings of the target. Probably a total fluke and beginners luck, but it was awesome, one of the best adrenaline rushes I've ever had, just feeling the arrow fly from your fingertips and see it smack into the target. So yeah, longbow all the way~

The reasons I like punches are:
 
- You don't have to carry them, they're always with you and ready to be used anytime.
- You basically have infinite ammo, if you know how to use them without hurting you.
- You're a total badass if you can manage to defeat a Demonlord with them.

YES, I punch things even IRL and I feel manly and awesome.

Either dual swords or fist-type weapons. My "character" on a previous bleach inspired roleplay forums was a dual zanpaktou user in which my Bankai (ultimate form of the weapon?) actually removes my swords and I fight using just my fist. and my main character in ragnarok online was a monk class

Not too many RPG characters use them, so it's harder to imagine them in an RPG setting, but Daena from Legend of Mana has a cool fighting style I think.

I'm really tempted to say some ridiculous weapon that's not a weapon. I'd love to be able to wield Dolls the way Lulu does, or a parasol like Lilka, or even a Kendama like Genis, or perhaps a hand-puppet like Mel. Or one of the bizarre "weapons" I've chosen for some of my own characters.

Hmm... if it's modern/sci-fi/final fantasyish then I'd choose firearms since I have experience with them and actually already carry one around with me most of the time. If we're talking medieval then knives + martial arts + anything I can use in the environment around me for the same reasons. I'll stick with what I know rather than trying to learn new things, if we instantly know new things in the rpg (or develop amnesia and forget the things we do know) then I guess I'd go with being a mage instead.

I'll be a romantic and say either a sword or a mage of some kind. Maybe a spear? Ephraim from FE and Kaladin from the Stormlight Archives use spears and they're two of my favorite fictional characters. Certainly can't go wrong with the classics.

A set of one-handed sword and a shield. A sword because it is generic and preffered by heroes. A shield because it blocks things and can be used to bash an enemy. It can also be thrown to hit and distract the enemy whenever I'm desperated.

Also, a soccer ball. How humiliating and hilarious can it be when an evil overlord gets defeated when a random guy Drive Shot'd him out of existence?
