To go back in time, so I could fix any mistakes I make.

God knows I'd need it, lol.

I wish life was like a PVR, so you could pause, go back, go forward...Or delete the bad things, cool power right? Or  record something awesome in life and do it again! :)

Do you have any idea how boring that would ultimately make life after the initial thrill of being able to abuse that knowledge for personal benefit wore off? I get wanting to know the future at times but... that would be more of a curse than it is a power in a lot of ways. I couldn't stand it, I'd never be able to enjoy a brand new book again because I'd already know before the author even thought it up.

I do believe you are thinking of "Omniscient", which is different from "Omnipotent"...

Although Omnipotence should by default include Omniscience.

I know this. >_> ...

Being a god; omnipotent, etc... WORST EVER...

You have no idea how privelegded one is for barriers, limits, complications and general struggles overall, and many many other things that being omnipotent denies you of. Even things you would never even think about.... That's probably a different topic somewhere, so I wont get into it though.

And that kind of sounds like I'm claiming to be some kind of special god or something... I'm not, so that's not really what I'm saying. I just know this subject "first-hand" in a "second-hand" nature? I guess? I don't know how you would explain that, really..... But yeah.. Silly me..

Anyway, if I had any power, it would have to be the ability of communication. Whether it be anyone or anything. Be it verbal, or telepathic, or whatever. As long as the communication was absolute and perfect without misenterpretation.

They mean the same thing when you think about it. You cannot do anything without the knowledge of how it's done and likewise you cannot know exactly how to do something without being capable of doing it. (in most cases, of course someone who becomes crippled knows how to walk but is still incapable of it, however if you were Omniscient you'd know how to repair yourself and in doing so prove omnipotence as well). It would be impossible to have absolute power without absolute knowledge because the ability to do comes from the knowledge of how something is done in the first place.

But that's what I want :)

I want the ability to know everything. And it won't bore me if I know something beforehand. Isn't that great, having your opponent directly thinks he has a chance, but since you know everything beforehand, you'd surely enjoy the time to crush him.

unless you know that you will lose to him... XD... if you can change that, then your omnipotence is not that omnipotent after all, since you were able to change what your omnipotence predicted...

Omnipotence is boring... Never feeling accomplishement, overcoming barriers, no surprises, no thrill, no risk, no adventure, no exploration, no learning, no cooking...

Though you cannot change anything... Because that means your omnipotence wasn't absolute... so what if you learn you die tomorrow? that's such a sad ending...

Power doesn't come with knowledge, and knowledge doesn't come with power. For proof, look at humans. So many people wielding power irresponsibly, without understanding it. And there are so many people with the knowledge to do things but are incapable of doing them.

As for Omnipotence...theoretically, if you had the power to do ANYTHING, you could quite easily attain Omniscience. However, just because you are capable of doing anything, doesn't necessarily mean you know how. I don't know though, I assume an Omnipotent being could just will themselves to have Omniscience??

Omniscience well, even if you knew how to obtain Omnipotence, doesn't necessarily mean that you could. Unlike having omnipotence, being omniscient wouldn't allow you to just gain the other by sheer force of will. That...would be frustrating? Knowing that ultimate power exists but being unable to obtain it?

What I'm saying is, Omniscience would let you know everything that is. Omnipotence would let you do things that aren't. Omniscients are bound by the laws of the universe. Omnipotents create their own laws.

Well, that's my interpretation of these theoretical traits, anyway. Kind of like how I have my own ideas of how shape-shifting would work (well, actually I think shape-shifting as it's almost always depicted would require a "soul", because your brain would have to morph with your body, thus changing your entire body, leaving only a soul or spirit as the anchor of your being)

The power of knowledge, omniscience.

Knowing how the stock market is going to go down, knowing how to build that rocket to the moon, knowing how to construct a Death Star on the moon, knowing how to point that Death Star at planet Earth and seize control of the world, knowing how to manipulate politicians, knowing what their plans are, knowing exactly what women want, and all kinds of other useful tid bits.

With the power of knowledge, I wouldn't need any other super powers.  I'd already command the universe.

Immortality with the option to switch it off (I suppose once Earth goes boom, immortality might become not so interesting).
