To be able to use one effectively in battle shows great skill and talent, plus it can be a graceful weapon in the right hands.
Plus, there's the whole death connotation inherent in it's usage in lore in regards to the grim reaper, which I find to be interesting and cool.

If it counts, a high-tech battle suit. Like Samus' Power Suit, or Iron Man's armor, or other similar things. Weapon and armor all in one! Why? Well, I don't like people getting hurt, especially people I care about. If I was someone else's weapon, then that means it would be someone I care about. Consider the Weapons and their Meisters from Soul Eater! That's one way to look at this idea. So, in that sense, I become an armor AND weapon for someone I care about. Giving them enhanced strength, defense, and speed. Some kind of flight or boosters, resistance to extreme temperatures, and built-in laser cannons! Not to mention some kind of computer systems and scanners and such. And Life support! Oh, and it's freaking cool.

If you think that's a weird concept... Well, I remembered the bells in Final Fantasy 5, now THAT'S a strange choice for a weapon!

Tsuki, you should see Noah's view on Gunblades.  He brings up a lot of questions about how useful such a thing would be (like if you were sword fighting with it, the gun grip would ensure you'd break your wrist almost anytime your sword impacted something).  Do you have to have ammo for the sword?  If you pull the trigger, what happens?  Does it fire bullets?  Does the blade part somehow slice better?  Does it fire magical bolts of energy along the metal blade?  Does the gunblade not work if there's no ammo in it?  What kind of ammo does it take?  Is the blade really only connected to the gun hilt by a single slim piece of metal to hold it in place?  Can you set the trigger pressure on the blade?  If so, couldn't you fire all 6 shots the moment you hit someone with the blade?  What happens then?  Where do you buy ammo for it at?

Final Fantasy has this knack of just having really crazy things exist simply because "they look cool".  As in, there's a ton of completely impractical things in the Final Fantasy series simply because some art director said, "yeah, it looks cool, throw it in".

I get why Gunblades exist...  Guns are cool.  Swords are cool.  Combining guns and swords sounds awesome.  In terms of practicality, however...  I think it would be slightly above fighting with a wrist launcher that you attach your DOG to in order to do damage.

I guess Love could be a weapon, it weakens you and strengthens you, it changes you, it inflicts pain, and it inflicts bliss and serenity. So if I had another choice of being a weapon I would be Love.

Hmm... I'd say a Wakizashi or a Tanto... or a Katana... or maybe a Zanbato... Heck, all Japanese swords are awesome.

I guess if I really had to choose I'd go with the Wakizashi (The companion sword) A sword smaller than the average katana, and when paired together with a katana it was essentially the mark of a samurai or swordsman in feudal Japan.

If I had to pick a wand, I'd probably go with one that makes snide remarks and does not appear to have much concern for the person holding it.

If a wand begins to dance around in the air...
