So, here's a really cool "theory" tip. You are only limited to 4 linkage points on ONE gadget. So how do you get around this? Give one linkage point to a dummy gadget, and then use it's linkage points. You can actually keep doing this as many times as you want to have an infinite number of linkage points tier-linked to a single gadget. Which is not only awesome, but should solve your problem really. Just have more and more gadgets with different kind of shots and different switches that trigger which kind of shot depending on which switches are already active. Let me know if that got too confusing. I think I confused myself some...

Ohhhh.... Alright, I'll have to dig into that and see what I can do. I didn't catch that before--making dummy items and linking them to my player character.

I want to be able to increase a weapon's power, or add weapons, by "stacking" the same pickup. So, collect Shot1 PickUp once--weapon 1, pick up Shot1 PickUp a second time, weapon 2, pick up Shot1 PickUp a third time, and a third weapon is active.

What has to be done to recognize the "stacking" of the "Shot1 PickUps?"

(In the meantime, I was experimenting with creating a boss for the first level and it turned out pretty nicely.)

Mostly you just have to be creative with turning your switches on and off. That's really the best way to work your planned weapon system is just have a bunch of switches that turn off and on depending on what powerups are active and whatever else comes in to play.

That's awesome! You'll have to let me know when you get a working demo. I'd love to check it out.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
