I am trying to find a battle system script that uses a side view and uses sprites instead of battlers I've seen a few over the internet but I need a good one and also someone to explain how to tweak it once i put it in my game

You're going to have to explain what "tweak it" means.

If you mean "how to set it up" there are usually instructions included with the script that you are expected to read.

I second-vouch for Symphony. It's easier to use than Victor's, has lots of easy basic customizations, it's all one single script, and it can do so much more if you really learn how it works.

Making animated enemies is as simple as <battler set: $Slime> and placing that $Slime graphic in both Character and Battler folders. From there you can give them specific attack animations, weapon-icon animations, etc.

Below the YEA Core Engine, and both of those should be near the top of your script list (being under materials of course) to prevent most compatibility issues in the future.

Did you add the Notetag <battler set: ____> to your enemies? (replace the underscore with the graphic name) The graphic must be located in your Character folder, and then in you battler folder as well for database purposes.

For example, I have in my project a graphic named $Slime.png, which is a 3x4 character spritesheet of my custom monster. (96x128 pixels)  My notetag for it is <battler set: $Slime>

If you want to test it, you can use any actor-sprite, but don't add the $ to the name. The $ is only to specify 3x4, while default actor-spritesheets are 12x8.

I exported monster3 and used paint to crop off all the other monsters besides the rat sprite imported it into battlers and tagged in notes on rat enemy <battle set:$rat> and all that happened was it showed the full sprite sheet of the rat in the same position as the default battle graphics location

You have to import it into Graphics/Characters as well. Otherwise it won't animate.

Importing into Battler is so that you can apply the sprite into the database enemy/troop tabs only. It's the Characters import that does the animations. Which is why I said to import it into both folders.

Hopefully it works for you now (and it should) because i'm going to sleep.

nope imported $rat into both character and battler folders still just shows full sprite set of rat in original battler positions

BUMP

I'm still having problems I have tried everything but enemies are still not working I can't even get them into the position for the symphony battle

system they stay where the default battlers were vertical across the screen instead of horizontal on the left hand side of the screen

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
