Good morning, I am here to ask a simple question. I am interested in creating a game in RPG maker MZ on my PC and once its complete porting it over to the Nintendo Switch eshop. I understand legally once you own the engine you can sell games. My main question is this, I see a console only version of MV on switch and I see indie games like "a NPC odyssey" ported to switch from VX ACE. So how do I go about porting my MZ game to Switch eshop compatibility? Thank you deeply.

This is not a simple question. You need a programmer/engineer to port your game code. You need to strike a deal with Nintendo to get them to allow your game on their platform and go through certification. You probably need a publisher, you definitely need a chunk of money. You also need to talk with RPGMaker people to modify the game code in a way that isn't covered in the EULA?

There's a lot.

Edit: You probably want this: https://www.nintendo.com/store/products/rpg-maker-mv-switch/
You can't sell your games this way, and only other people with this app can play your game. But if you want your game playable on the Switch, this is the most sensible approach.

You'd need to contact nintendo and go through their process first (which would probaly include a quality test) and have programmers work to optimize it for switch.

Mmm Tempted so bad to get RPG maker 2000 at some point. I want to make an easter egg in my next real project, but also the allure of being a true hipster and developing in the Engine no one uses.
Definitely one of the stranger specimen.

@SigmaSuccour, it's been a long time I don't see you around.

Continuing our countdown with Capsule Monster #11 Vampy! While he might have a lower HP he has the unique ability to drain hp from others to restore his own! For any Yu-Yu-Hakusho fans I based a lot of his design on Rinku!
I'm finally done with my demo for the Cube Trail! All that needs to happen is playtesting of the four main characters for any balance changes that need to be done.
