This is obviously my fist post and before hand, I apologize if it's not in the right section. Before anyone asks, I have searched amd googled and googled and googled and youtubed, etc. I cannot find a sure clear answer.

I have downloaded a ton of RPG games lately, Exit Fate, Laxius force, etc. But not a single one of the launches on my laptop full screen, they are always pening in this tiny window as if it's some hand held game. I'd really like to utilize my whole laptops screen to play these games. Most of these games use something called rgss player to run but theres no options anywhere to enable or change to full screen. What do i need to do to get this ti happen or am i crapped out of luck and never able to play these games the on full screen?

Alt + enter doesnt work on any of them, alt **** enter doesnt, f5 doesnt, f1 doesnt. Nothing i have done thus far will change these games and stretch them to full screen.

I keep seeing things about scripts, but that makes me feel even more lost, i dont even know where to begin or what to do with that,

Is there something Im missing? Is there a file i can edit or something? My display and video drivers are up to date too.

Really wanting to play Exit fate but i'm not playing it on a tiny window when i have a whole screen that can be filled up with pixels.

Again, sorry if this is the wrong place but im new to this and really want to play these RPGs.

Alt+Enter gives you full screen.

No, it's not. I said that in my original post.

I start the game up, hit alt + enter an nothing happens.

Sorry, I read the post too quickly.  As I've played some of the games you mention, and I know that they go to full screen on any computer I've played them on, it has to be a function of your set up in some way.  When you open them, and you hit F1, are the settings on default?  You might try clicking reset and see if that helps.

This is what I get when I hit F1. None of that seems to help with the games resolution.

I was thinking more of the keyboard tab, what you've got things mapped to.  If it's not that either, than you'll have to wait for someone else to answer.  However, I do know that it is not a fault of those games because I know that they do go into full screen.

This is nothing to do with the games, but more likely to do with your display settings. Check the settings on your video card and see how it is set to handle full screen applications where the aspect ratio does not match the monitor's aspect ratio. There will likely be options to keep original size, keep aspect ratio (in which case it'll add black bars either to the sides or the top/bottom to fill out the screen) or stretch (which should fill the screen, but might make the game look a little weird).

Eh, none of that is helping either. I have some built in intel HD graphics card that doesnt have any options like that. Guess I'll just delete all these RPGs I downloaded and move on to other types of games or something. I appreciate the help guys but it seems like nothing is fullscreening or stretching the game window and I refuse to play these games in such a tiny window with a whole lot of unused background space. Sorry for wasting anyones times. I'll try again next year when I can get a better laptop or something. :(

Even intel HD graphics have those settings (if I remember correctly, I don't have one at the moment) - but what I do remember is that those settings are NOT in the regular place where windows accesses the graphic drivers.

If the intel HD drivers I remember are correctly installed, then you got an icon in the small area next to time on the task bar, and that's where you have to access the HD grafic settings.

Yea, I found my Intel HD Graphics settings but I can't find a single thing in any of it that says keep aspect ration. Gimme a few and I'll post pics.

Here are the options in my graphics card control panel. Where it says Select display, buil in display is the only option available, Display profiles, the only thing in the drop down is current profile. Ive played around with different resolutions and refresh rates with no luck. clicking on the the scaling options does nothing, no right click or anything. Same with advanced settings, it just says "your display doesnt support advanced settings".

Believe me, I'm trying everything to get full screen or somewhat of a bigger screen. I want to play these RPGs so bad. but the window is so tiny I cant even make out some of the dialog in these guys.

If you need me to post a pic of something else in my graphics options,, pleae tell me.

Thanks in advance.

yes, try if it gets better with the maintain scaling removed.

If not, switch to the advanced settings instead of the basic (in the line under display settings) and give us a screenshot of these.

@ Shaz, I can't uncheck scaling, theres no option to. If i click on maintain display scaling it does nothing the check mark remains, cant right click it either. nothing happens. Also, I wasnt aware that I double posting, sorry about that, if I did, it was unintentional.

@ Andar, you didn't fully read my reply in the post where I put the display settings picture. Advanced settings, it just says "your display doesnt support advanced settings"

That's what I get when I click on advanced settings.

See? it's like there's nothing I can do.

The only way I can see to fix it is to fiddle with the scaling option somehow. There should be way to adjust it, check the help file for your video card and see how to adjust it. As it is, it is defaulting to showing a 544 x 416 window on a 1366 x 768 screen (your resolution).

If you can't find a way to adjust the scaling, you could always try dropping the resolution to something like 800 x 600 or so. It will still show as a window, but it will be much bigger. Keep in mind that will affect *all* programs though so you might want to try this as a last resort, and remember to change it back when you are done with the game.

That almost sounds as if either the wrong driver is installed or if the laptop manufacturer disabled parts of the driver.
Check if you can identify which IntelHD it is and if the regular Intel driver for it works.

If those options have been disabled in the hardware (some manufacturers do that because it reduces manufaction costs), then there are limits of what we can do.

If that laptop is of a specific brand, can you post a link to its online description?

Can't change resolution lower than 1024 x 768, already tried that.

Andar, that's exactly what it is, the manufacturer has disabled some of the options. I get that message sometimes when I mess around with certain settings.

This is my piece of crap laptop.

One idea then: We do have a post where someone has offered to do tech support. Maybe go post over there and ask them if they can help you fix the video settings so you can do full screen?

I've discovered something odd. Whenever I download any RPG Maker game, whether it be 2000, VX, VX Ace, etc. if the game contents are in a folder with a game launcher, it will NOT full screen. However, any RPG Maker games I find online that have an installer, when I start the game up, my f5 key WILL full screen them. So it's pretty much 50/50 on which games I can play. Not sure why or what the heck is the reasoning that one can yet the other can't even though it's the same players but I'm at least able to play some games full screen.

Now my hunt it dfor only rpg maker games that have an installer as only these seem to be to able to go full screen on my laptop.

Any idea why?

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
time for a new avatar :)
