that could only be done with some script changes, why do you need that? Maybe there is a better solution? Because Hotspots and Image Maps are actually made for UI so they are not going with the scene.

Still, consider a point'n'click game, or just an investigative segment of a game: if the room is larger than the screen you may need to move your view (including both the background, the characters and the image maps) freely.
I know you could also move the image maps accordingly, but I, for instance, had a hard time doing that with the Side-scrolling extension.
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
