Image not showing up in Animation tab

Hey, everyone. I'm trying to use a black square or half-square for a camera shutter effect for a skill animation. The trouble is that the black parts don't show up in the animation tab in the database. Am I doing something wrong here?

Works fine for me. Are you sure you saved it into the correct folder? img/animations in your project folder, not in the newdata folder where MV is installed.

Are you saying JUST the black parts don't show, or the entire image isn't in the list? If it's just the black parts, how did you add the image? If you used the resource manager you might have had some setting that masked that colour. I normally just save the resource right into the folder and bypass resource manager completely. Doing it that way, for me, the image itself AND the black parts show up.

The editor is probably mistaking the black squares for blank space, at least that would be my first guess (even after quickly skimming your topic, I thought you wanted the black squares to GO AWAY, lol, which is generally what people want when big ugly black squares show up in their animations).

OKAY, I FIGURED YOUR PROBLEM OUT! Yay. You need to right click the cells with the black squares and change the Blend from Additive to Normal (it's always annoyed me on a conceptual level that NORMAL is not the DEFAULT, but I get why Additive is). Then they'll appear. Like so:

@Shaz Yeah they were in the right folder and the other parts were working. @CrowStorm has the solution and I can add the black parts that I want. Thanks you two!

Oh, nice - I didn't actually try to put them into an animation frame, so I probably would have had the same issue as you.
