Hello.


Starting with a reference to this post:





Request:


A script to change a image events reads from. This can be a powerful tool for everyone, so I encourage someone to look into it :)


The script Intention is to swap the image.png with image2.png. So that in-game Events on plugin-command reads from the other picture instead.
For example: If I want to add a snowy area to my game. I can add a new picture to img/character with snow on and just add a plugin command on that map.

EDIT: I have the possibility to donate a small sum to the coder. Anyways, this script would go perfect with the upcomming rpgmakerZeldaMV engine!


EDIT:


For example. Temprature.
We have our objects created in rpgmaker based on image outside_normal.png.


If the temprature variable drops to 0 i would swap the whole reference image from "outside_normal" to "outside_snow.png".
If the temprature is above 170, we use "Outside_Heatwave.png"
Same with seasons, if switch season-spring is activated swap to "Outside_spring"


Plugin command: Outside_normal to Outside_Snow


That way we can add seasons and special scenes with much less effort.
Leaving variable settings in our events to other things than animation and graphics settings for objects.

The plugin will only update on command so it wont cause any lag.

Out of curiosity, can you not just duplicate the main event page and just replace the image with the snow one, and then based on a variable/switch make the event change pages?

I have on some of my objects, so I use that feature. Rock events in the game is a bit different. Im making a mining game and my rocks already have everything set up with a lot of conditions and calculation. Also its very much random if the rock appears. Using OrangeCustomEvents. So im asking for a way to just change the image all rocks loads when on that map.


EDIT: Maybe it can be done with event notes. But Im not a scripter.  :(

I dont know the linking rules of this forum yet. But its the Project Zelda Engine. And they are trying to make engine for xp *almost done. and Mv. Search it.

@Martin Most people would simply set the image to the new one when placing an event on a map that has a different tileset. That is usually easier.


I think you have a better chance if you gave an explanation in which cases and why that would be problematical and why such a plugin would be helpfull.


Because you only claimed it would be helpfull without explaining why that is. Because it is not obvious why it should be better to change the graphic ingame (which will require processing time) instead of in the editor (which would not require processing and thereby not add to lag)

and what prevents you from using multiple event pages and swapping between them by variable automatically? just make the event several pages, each page conditioned to the variable "temperature", and changing the sprite when the variable is above certain numbers.

It can be many reasons for that. For example my game copies the rock from another map and duplicating it on the new. This is done with the plugin OrangeCustomevent, here I had some trouble with the rocks affecting eachother when mining them. I have given them variables and switches not to affect eachother and I use 16pages on this rock. 

With this script I can add grapical changes to all  the events in one comand line and with one edit in photoshop. Cant you see the benefits?

Also I need it for animation effekt. 
So @Andar will you write it? :)  Im guessing its not the biggest script.

Hello! I would like to know if there are any pluggings or any way to customize how battles look?
I was thinking that when you start the battle for it to appear the eyes of your characters and opponents sorta like Ace Attorney.
