Kaus just sent out an email with an attachment of tiles claiming them to be his original works. More importantly, however, he said his Paypal account isn't allowing refunds due to an error, and even if it were, he's broke. He says refunds will be forthcoming, but will take time for him to save up the money first. So, if you're still waiting, you might consider just cutting your losses and take it as it is.
-_- Ugh.
Want to say thanks to the artists and scripters who are coming forward to fill the void left by this ridiculousness, though. Highly appreciated and speaks a lot to the good will and integrity of this community.
Speaking of that, I just got a tablet of my own, and if there is anyone out there who wouldn't mind PMing me some advice, I'd like to start putting together some tiles for the community as well. As it stands, I'll be putting out some edits soon, but original work would be fun.
As many have, I have been following along with this. I have been in contact with Hanzo/Kaus for awhile, and honestly, I believed him when he first started and said he wanted to do this right this go 'round. He impressed me as someone who had a good eye, a bit of technical skill, and a serious lack of organizational skills. You gotta hand it to him in the "vision" department.
Whether he was negligent to the point of being fraudulent or ignorant (still) or just terribly disorganized (or even an outright thief), he has disqualified himself from posting commercial resources as far as the eye can see, at this point. In fact, even his edits would need intense scrutiny, and life is very busy - who has time for all that?
I have invested a significant amount of time trying to work out credits for various (other) artists' work, and the truth is... My time is valuable. Pretty clearly yours is, too. For those of you who were going commercial, or just spent crazy amounts of time making maps, I hope the list of edits may help you to resolve your work out to your advantage, but it's a shame. And we have a really incredible store here. =]
So the crux of it is, to me, that for commercial work, you put yourself in a position to be vulnerable to the degree the person you get resources from is unreliable.
Thank you so much to all the artists and mods whose time has been spent unraveling this mess. I love the free edits offered by so many generous folks, and highly value the commercial materials I have collected.
And Hanzo/kaus, the degree you work to help people at this point is appreciated, but I'm afraid you have put some significant nails in your coffin.
