Importing Battlers

I wanted to use an in game sprite for a battler, so I took one of the animal sprites, (the cat) opened it in gimp and erased all of the other animals, so that the only thing left was the cat facing right. (And the rest was transparent) Then I exported as a .png and when I import it to RPG Maker, it's not transparent, but has a black background. PNG File:

download, and try again

It works fine. When you import images into the program, it may show up with a color in the background. You just need to click on the background to have rpg maker remove it. This is because it is saved as an indexed format. Change it to RGB. Then the transparent will get recognized by rpg maker.
