I've tried importing music to RPG Maker MV and nothing is working. I've converted the files to .m4a and .ogg and I can find them when I'm selecting the game music but they won't play. Please, someone has to have run into this problem before? I've tried smaller files but that doesn't seem to work.

Thanks!

If they are listed but don't play, then there probably is a problem with the codec used.

Which codecs did you use to create the files? If I remember correctly, for OGG you need to use one of the theora codecs.

I never used a codec. I just renamed the file extension.

EDIT: I also don't know what a codec is.. Haha.

EDIT 2: Ah. It's a device or program that compresses data to enable faster transmission and decompresses received data. I'm assuming I can find Theora codecs here?

Renaming a file extension does not change the file format, it just makes the file unusable. If you don't believe that, get a word-doc file from somewhere, change the extension to .txt and then try to open it with the text editor...
You need to use an audio conversion program to convert an audiofile into a different format.

A good free one is Audacity, just search for that.

Okay so I opened Audacity and Imported the selected file, then exported as the .ogg and m4a and saved them to the designated audio folder in my game and it works. =)

Thank you very much!

To whom ever person or persons who re-did the DS/DS+ asset packs for MV (as in, they are all 48x48, and not just x2 the pixel scale) .... THANK-YOU!!!!!!!!! XwwwwX
