Hey atreyoray, 

thank you very much for this awesome plugin! It is so useful and your tutorial is very detailed and easy to understand. 

Unfortunalety, I always have an Type Error when I try to open the Manual in the In Game Menu: "Cannot read property 'length' of undefined".

I have followed the manual in every step. 

I have made a little test entry, like this:

<name> NAME

<title> TITLE

 

<text>

blubbedi blubbedi blaah...

<end entry>

 

and saved it as Manual.txt in my data folder. I leaved the paramters of the plugin as default for testing. 

 

I can't see what I did wrong (but I'm sure I DID something wrong), could you please help? :)

Hey, Ilovepapayas! Did you forget to place a <main entries> tag in your manual.txt file?

Check step 7 on page 8 in the tutorial to see what you have to do.

Please tell me if it solves your problem!

This was my fault, I forgot to set the main entries!

@IL RASTA I have a feeling your question is answered in the posts right above you: "Did you forget to place a <main entries> tag in your manual.txt file?"


@atreyoray: thank you VERY much for this plugin! It does exactly what I need it to. I've been wanting an encyclopedia-like thing for my game for some extra depth for the players who are into such a thing, and this does exactly what I need it to. One question: is it possible to add more than one image to an entry? I have to admit I only scanned through the tutorial so far so perhaps it's covered in there, but it seemed at a glance that only one image is possible. I'll be able to make it work with clever image creation, but more than one image and being able to decide exactly where each image shows up would be brilliant!

I want this menu to create a town menu, there you can build houses and more. I need a chance to create a switch.

The problem is the name of the file. You have hide extension. You must rename the file only in Manual and not .txt because IT IS a text file, but the extension is hide!

Hey, @atreyoray, thanks so much for this plugin, it's so useful.  Is there any chance you could add in a small additional function, so that we could call the Manual Help scene and have it open to a specific unlocked help page?


Here's what I have in mind.  A mini-game starts, and I want the player to see all the controls at a glance.  Said plugin command above creates a new Manual Help scene, open to the exact page with the controls.  The player can then cancel out of help, and the game resumes.  This would be particularly important when describing game controls (as above), as the player may not be aware of the control needed to quickly access help.  Otherwise, it can be used for tutorial prompts (like many games in the Atelier series).

1) have you started a new game after installing that plugin? 80% of all plugins make the saved games incompatible and require the setup done by the new game button


2) what other plugins have you installed? does the same happen when you try to install it in a new project?

It looks like atreyoray is gone... since July.


So is there anyone out there that can take on upgrades for plugin?


I would like to see text codes used for Sections Titles and Labels.  So you can use \n[1] for some character descriptions and have the name be what the player wants it to be.  I'm sure there's other uses for it as well.

Sorry for asking if this seems stupid, but does anyone know how to make this work with Yanfly's MainMenuManager?
The scene automatically shows with MainMenuManager off, but with it enabled this scene is not available by default.

@cocosia I suggest you start a new thread in JS Plugin Support. This isn't really the place for that query. Provide links to this plugin and to Yanfly's, so that people can look at both without having to go hunting. Provide as much detail as you can about what you want to happen, and what does happen.

Before doing that, check if changing the order of the plugins helps.

I've been looking for something like this because I want the main character in the game to collect journal entries and various lore into a diary. VXA had a decent Notebook script (Here's the link: http://www.rpgmakercentral.com/topic/5776-est-notebook-system/ ), but that hasn't been translated to MV yet.

I'd like to use this plugin with multiple Manuals, but I haven't gotten the knack of it yet. I keep getting errors. Maybe a sample game with this plugin in use would help me figure it out.

Helo, i fund a bug, ate list in all my tries i can´t make it work. I'm creating a game in Portuguese, similar to brazilian but a little different :LZSrasp:. Same words have special characters, for example: cão / opções / Padrão / é.

Sadly in the game menu this special letters are replaced by whit crystal shapes whit a black question mark in the center. Any suggestions?

I think that just means the font you're using doesn't have those characters. Try another font - a very common one.

i trait it whit Capsuula and duality and they bothe have this BUG only in the In-Game Manual they work just fine in the mane menu.
