In game pickpocket / Lockpicking

Hello, and thanks in advance.


I want my character to be able to pickpocket from townspeople and to lockpick some of the doors. I would like that to happen quite easily and smoothly in the map. I guess there is not the possibility to set a button just to do that, so is there a way to enter into "stealth mode" and then the action button is for stealing?

simply use a switch for "stealth on" or "pickpocket on" or whatever, and then in each event that can access that, have the action button content check which switches are on before giving a result

You can also go more in depth on this by using a var and a random pickpocket tskill level and a conditional branch . So for example you walk up to a npc in stealth mode and pickpocket them depending on there pickpocketing skill level they will get a random item from the npc.

But how do you torn those switches On in game? Any ideas?

Yeah my idea was using conditional branch or so in order if you are succeeding, no?

a lot of possibilities.


For example if you want to make stealth temporary, you turn it on with a skill and have it trigger a parallel proces common event that turns it off after a few thousand waits.


Or you use two skills for activating and deactivating stealth

Thanks Andar. I was thinking in something quicker, activating the stealth mode without opening the menu (and then the skill) but i think yes, the skill solution is fair simple and good. Thanks a lot!

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
