Hello there, I think that this problem attain all programmers of all sort without exception. So it's the reason why I write here.

Uno, you're creating an RPG game right? So inspire yourself from other's Game(I don't mean "copy the game") like FF series

Dos, watch your TV sometimes(if you don't). Manga games are always good inspiration for RPGs

Tres, If you really don't have any inspiration and can't get anything from what I've shown above, you're a hopeless developer....just joking!!! =D. I think that it's the worst method in the world because it force you to learn(Niark!!! At least it can help you in your game development). Inspire your self from your country's history(I think that medieval times shouldn't be bad).

i get my inspiration in making games mainly in playing lots of games (giving me less time for more important things T3T)

also, watching the daily routine of human beings can sometimes give ideas (if you are the open-minded, thinking outside-the-box person)

I get my ideas fron games I've played, shows and movies I've seen and life in general. The first game I'm making (to learn) is one my grandson is coming up with. I just have to keep reminding him of the limits of the software and to not copy other games.

I am influenced by them, but he wants to try copying them outright lol

Music. Games. Stupid stuff that I see somewhere (i.e. Wikipedia), like assassins or whatever.

I prefer to ignore anime for RPG stories, but it probably had an impact on me. But I hate shonen's storytelling. And most seinen I like aren't meant for an RPG.

Another thing I WOULD like to do more often is reading sci-fi books. I've recently started reading a book called "The boat of a million years". Also reading helps me get better at writing, so it is a win-win situation.

So, yeah, but practically anything counts, as I'm always trying to make a game of anything, if possible,

I get inspiration from real people I have met, or otherwise encountered and games I have played. I try to pull the aspects of some of my favorite games (the parts I didn't like) and figure out what I didn't like about them and rebuild it from the ground up to be more enjoyable for me.  Aside from that, I draw more inspiration that I probably should from music. In the case of my current project, a toy of my daughters (11 months old) brought up the feeling of walking through a town in a classic RPG game... and the rest is brainstorming history.

My inspiration comes from my own personal passions in life. Examples include, the traumas I've been through and witnessed. My stance on vegetarianism, animal cruelty and welfare.

Life and death itself are great means of inspiration. I have so much in my life that I need no inspiration from media or anything else. The media already consists of everyone elses inspirations.

I've got my own life and my own message, so I use that as a basis.

for me, I've cumuled 14 years of inspiration(almost my entire life) without exploiting it, so this is not my problem. I don't lack of ideas, my brain is still fresh

Manga, anime, videogames, movies, tv shows, even real life sometimes.

The problem is: I'm hardly proud of what I create, but I think that I'm finally walking on the right path now.

Music, books, other games of course. Music heavily influences how I make my maps, reading books ( that does not happen to be manga ._.  I read Dan Brown and stuff like that, though none of my present works have been influenced by his writing as of yet. ) opens up new ideas and JRPGs influences the gameplay of the games I make.

I had a dream this night, I think that it would sweet well in my game as a "Fated Hour". Oh yeah, at least, bad dreams are not so useless

Books. The number of great stories and characters compared to movies, TV, or cartoons is at least 10-1. It isn't even close.

I had a dream this night . . .
Aha, dreams are also a splendid source of inspiration. A few of my character designs are based on dreams I've had, in fact. Even some scenes/elements of the game.

Life experiences are tremendous; my personal views, and so on. And of course various games I've played, or shows I've watched (I love documentaries/historical mysteries with mystical bases), the works. There is no limit to inspiration; the only limit is how open you keep yourself to it.

If I make a game about my dreams, it could cause mass suicides. So I'm... inserting them gently in a risk-free way.

Or so I hope,

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:
Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
