Hello there,

I was under some frustration when mapping due to the fact that I wanted parts from one tileset while using another. Looking this up I saw the suggestion you could create your own custom tileset with all the tiles you wanted. That I did, I took all the tilesets from RPGMaker and tediously crafted a tileset with everything in it. However, now that I have added this tileset to the database and what not, it does not appear that it is working as it should. Some tiles are very clearly missing, I can see them in the preview of the tiles but when editing my map many are no longer there.

Is there a height restriction on the tilesets? I'm failing to understand what the issue is. Any help would be appreciated!

From what I understand, you increased the size of the original sheet, right? Unfortunately, doing that doesn't work. There is a size restriction to how big tilesets can be. What you can do is add more tilesets to the tabs below the tile manager (titled A, B, C, D, E respectively). You will notice that the default tilesets only have three tabs while there's actually room for two more.

If you have any more questions, feel free to ask!

The maximum size of a tileset is 512x512 pixels for tabs B-E.  Tiles on tab A have their own rules about which tiles will fit there and how they are arranged.

So, if you tried to put everything into one tile set, they won't all appear.

You have to pick which ones you want for a particular map, arrange the tiles sets to your preference (remembering that you have B-E, so that's 4 sets.

Import them via Resource Manager

Go into the database and start a new tileset with its own name and select which sheets you want.  Set the passability and you're then good to go.

EDIT

ninja'd by seconds.

Bah! Wasted my time a bit then. Thank you very much anyway guys, I'll resort to the method you suggested. I did wonder why nearly every tileset had similar dimensions.  :headshake:

Just as an additional info:

there are six diferent formats for tilesheets, one each for A1m A2, A3, A4 and A5, and the sixth format is 512x512 pixels in 16x16 tiles for slots B to E.

The formats for the five autotile-sheets are more complex and described in the help file, because a single autotile requires a specific area of 64x96 pixels on the autotilesheets to contain all parts for that autotile. That's why it appears that some tiles go missing when placing a sheet intended for a B-slot into an A#-slot, especially with A1 (the only tilesheet for animated autotiles, cycling through three regular autotiles for each animated autotile).

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
