Yes, pretty much what The Stranger said. A small spoiler below:

The Sophorians are explorers by nature. They explore the universe and attempt to expand their civilization in a hope to make it as diverse and rich as possible, which means with the inclusion of other cultures and species as well. The Edurans were another species that they came across prior to meeting Humans. Over the years they've managed to integrate the Edurans. Now they're trying to do so with Humans too. However, not all Sophorians share the opinion of their society, and there are a few who have other goals in mind and they'd do anything to sabotage the integration of the species.

I've been stuck on this mainframe boss for at least an hour, this thing is just OP.

I mean it completly disables Anku from the fight and he was my main party member so that's that.

It deals 300ish to everyone with like a 99%chance of confusion of at least 2people

It deals another 400 to everyone and it just loves to spam this twice in a turn

It summons 2 other robots to help which is just dandy.

I can't go back to get some more supplies to deal with this thing so... wtf

I had to sell all my other peoples weapons except one to even be able to purchase basic equipment, so Switching isn't an option.

^^^ This boss is just stupid... then that random cat thing wut?

Also Maddock that skill he has "Accurate Fire" = Always hits unless it misses... What the hell is the point.

The Scaling in the game is also quite bad, I mean I'm do almost the same damage at Rnk12 3hours in then I was doing in the very beginning.

Finally the list of weapons says that there is only fourish per character. I'm at the 4th weapon only 2-3hr's in. So I'm not getting any more equipment upgrade for the rest of the game (7hrs?)

Heya. Thanks for the feedback. It seems you're not the only one struggling with the AI boss. He was supposed to be a step up in difficulty and really requires some strategies to be beaten, like using your buffs such as Enforce, Strengthen, and Regeneration Mist, and letting Anku sit this fight out. He can be beaten at lvls 16-17, but I am guessing I should tone him down since new players won't be as familiar with the game as I was whilst testing it. So I'll be releasing an updated version where I'll make him easier (as are the two final bosses as well, since they're not any easier than him at the moment). How did you find any of the previous bosses? Were they fine in terms of difficulty?

Also, are you sure you're only 2-3 hours in? The AI Mainframe boss is in late stages of the game. After beating him you get access to all the previous cities, where you can do some optional stuff, and straight after that it's the final area.

Accurate fire skill is basically a skill that's set to "Certain Hit" as opposed to "Physical Attack", so it ignores your hit rate/accuracy and should technically always hit the enemy.

Yeah I'm 3hrs and 30minutes in the game and all the other bosses were fine expect the AI and the blue girl Gaia. The girl was only difficult because there was no shop for like 3dungeons so I ran out of ammo on almost everyone.

Sadly I can't use Enforce since I gave that to Anku. I gave Strengthen to my healer who also has Regen Mist so that's not good.

I also can't revive people since they get one shot.

Besides this boss it has truly been a wonderful game, and I was quite impressed on how you managed to get all those materials so it really feels like a space RPG game.

Oh right. So you must've gone through the game quite fast then. When I was testing it, usually I'd get to this part at around 5-7 hours in.

In Gaia, if you speak to the first robot guard that you see, he actually acts as a shop. But other than him, the enemies in that area drop ammo and the latest armor pieces as well.

Thanks. Yeah, it did take a while to compile all the resources together and to make necessary edits where needed (like making all those alien npcs).

In other news, I've uploaded the new version of the game - version 1.2. Here are the changes in this version:

- Reduced difficulty of 3 bosses in the ending stages of the game

- Reduced difficulty of the arena mini-boss

- Reduced difficulty of regular enemies in the final area

- Added an automated shop in the Root base prior to the boss (just before the lasers mini-game)

- Created and added Health stations in several areas. (these health stations would heal party completely and restore from deaths, but they don't restore ammo)

- Reduced Paralysis state duration from 2-4 turns to 2-3 turns.

Now AI boss should be more manageable (and I've made sure this is possible if you have Anku in your team as well, although it will be a bit harder since he will still get hacked and disabled at times, but not as likely as before). Also, since I've added an automated shop just before him, it should allow you to customize your gear for this fight. If I may suggest, most of his attacks deal plasma damage, so it's good to use plasma shields on your most used characters. And also, since one of his group attacks also has a chance (25%) to confuse your characters, it might be helpful to equip Headbands of Focus to some of your people, which will halve the chance of getting confused.

Thank you for responding so quickly and I like the idea of the Health Stations, I will definetly (<--Can't spell...) go through this game again and try using different people and pick different choices.

Thanks. Glad you're liking it enough to replay it. So I am guessing you've managed to beat the AI boss then?

Thought I'd do a bit of an announcement and mention that there'll be a sequel to this game. I've already been planning out the plot and characters and very soon will begin working on the more tangible aspects of the game. If anyone has any suggestions or improvements from the first game for me to consider, then feel free to share them. :)

I didn't have problems at all with your original release. Just try not to nerf too many things for other people's sake, lol.

Thanks. I am very glad to hear that you found it to be all right. So you didn't find some of the bosses in late stages too hard? I think what I'll do is provide several difficulty levels for people to pick from at the start.

Yeah, doing something like that might be nice.  Having the harder difficulty (thus harder enemies) give better rewards to compensate is usually the mainstream plan of implementation. (Whether its more exp, money or in this case more ammo than used)

That's interesting, I haven't considered that before, but wouldn't having more/better rewards on harder difficulties balance them out and make them same as normal? I'll see if there are scripts around that can do this.

Not really, it depends how it's implemented and how the battles are. If battles are based on strategy and swift execution instead of raw math and numbers hoping you have enough health/mp to win, for example.  If it's the latter then difficulties shouldn't really be added.

This is pretty damn awesome looking. I don't normally do scifi s after my failure playing star ocean, but this looks good!

A quick update. I've made some changes to the game to make it a bit more streamlined.

These are the changes made in version 1.3:

- Fixed a bug where a switch causes the battle system to turn partially side view
- Reduced the encounter rate in some areas
- Increased EXP and money rewards from some enemies
- The merchant on Chimera station now sells spare ammo
- Added more Health stations
- Fixed some typos and other minor errors

Many thanks to everyone for feedback. And just in case thought I'd mention again that the second game has been in development for a while now and I am aiming to release it fully as a beta version in the first week of April.

You can find it here: http://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?/topic/20483-incitement-2-demo-is-out/

Just wondering does this game have any type of magic at all?

Heya. No, no magic at all. There are just various skills that each character uses with their weapon.

I downloaded this and central impulse. Both are great, but in central impulse I can't get past the first boss.

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:
Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
