I worked for hours trying to sync a song to end when the opening credits finished scrolling. Naturally, spacing the lines of dialog is a given. However, sometimes it may be necessary to change the actual scrolling speed. I had the timing right with text lines spaced correctly, and scrolling set to 2. Anyway, I saved the project and took my laptop to a friend's house to show him what I did. when I started the game , the
syncing of the music was off more than 10 seconds., and I even waited for the music to initialize prior to starting up the game. I do not
understand this at all. I suppose it is another disappointment associated with the music lag which seems to be one of the most talked-about topics..., as much if not more talked-about as missing resources is. What troubles me the most, is that the music lag is over a month old, and still not fixed. This problem, in itself is not that bad. It doesn't hurt to wait a few seconds for music to initialize, but it is far more disturbing when either A. the text scrolling speed is not constant, or B. the chronic music lag affects trying to sync things. Either way, I never had this problem with my game I did in VX ace...and I got comments about how professional it looked. I just found a bug with not changing back to boat music after teleporting under a bridge. I am not trying to be a pessimist, but, considering these two bugs both deal with "music"...it tends to make the problem with music in general quite systemic. Considering the fact that music is so important in games these days, that entire orchestral arrangements are prevalent...that this issue should have been fixed long ago. There are a lot of music codecs out there...some good...some bad. This can only make one think that A. .ogg vorbis is not a good codec or B. it is not put to its full use in this software. Again, not to be a pessimist, but after spending more and more time on this forum...seeing more and more bugs, it brings into question the thoroughness of the beta testers, and after hearing more and more, "we are working on this" ....that the devs seem to have their own agenda and time frames. I read negative reviews and thought that a lot of it was unfair. However, considering the pre-launch hype, the comment that was repeated often, about the software feeling "unfinished" now seems to hold water.
