OK so I need to be able to show a message on screen without the player being stopped. What I wanna do is when the player gets close to a door or chest or something he can interact a message will show indicating it. It's kinda like the balloon message system's I've seen where you have like a tiny box with text but instead of having to wait for the text to close to move it just shows up there and you can keep moving. Is there a quick way to do this? Meaning, open a message box in x,y with text and making the game not have to wait for it?

There are several scripts which I believe will do what you are wanting. One that comes to mind is Yami's Pop Message.

I think I might used that later for my characters conversation scenes, but as I said I want to be able to show text and have the player be able to move while the text is there.

Nice, that's basically what I want, nice and simple. I saw that you use a comment there and I got it work, but is there restriction to the trigger type? Also I have a few questions regarding it: could I do show an image(icon) + text on the interaction? could it load a variable value + text? and whats the terms of use of it? :)

I'm asking about the variables cause I'll probably use to do something like "Z to hide" where Z is the key on the keyboard but it corresponds to :C key on the game or something like that, ya know? So it would be dynamic say I change the C button to correspond to the Q key on the keyboard the message would change automatically. Thanks for the help guys :D

It only works for Action Button trigger

<interact: \\I[1] interact name>And because I want to do it in a simple way, there's no such a thing like trigger key to change the interact message or something like that.

My college life has just begun. So it seems I can't do RGSS3 for a while. I'm very sorry

Don't mind about terms of use. It's free to use both commercial and non-commercial. As long as you give me the free copy of your game. And it's also mean that you're free to edit my script. You may ask another scripter to modify if you have insufficient scripting skill

Yeah I tried in yours and it didn't work. I see that this one supports the message box commands like \c[], \v[] and so on but it doesn't say anything like be able to do Input::C and have him print Z out of it. Anyhow you script works like a charm for me now. I can script all right so I'll try to take a look at it later. Thanks. Topic can be closed :)

Hello Sir im having issues about the script, it says "undefined method 'all?' for nil:NilClass" it happens when Interact on a moving event and when I cancel a choice for example, I use <interact: TALK> after that it displays the error.
You'd be better to PM me or create a new thread in RGSSx support rather than just hi-jack it here, otherwise mod will come to you.
But, as usual. You have to mention which line? Even better if you provide the error screenshot. Please do it whenever you want to ask to every scripters or just ask support in this forum

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
