Alien Isolation really starts once the Alien gets fully activated to follow you in almost any map and area. It has caught so many players off-guard as game doesn't notify that not even supposed "safe areas" are safe anymore.

Anyway yeah, Star Wars - Expanded Universe is good example of "licensed fan works" or whatever you want to call them. However there they try not to clash with each other and instead co-exist. I'm pretty sure there is some checking before releasing a licensed "fan work" that it doesn't clash with other works too much.

For example, Thrawn being in two places at once without a good explanation due two different authors used the same character.

Actually - and this is especially true for those that have seen one of the first two movies - I feel that that's when the game starts to fade a bit. Especially half-way, when there is literally no place you can't go without it following you. I think they overdid it a bit in that aspect, like the protagonist put on her fresh-beef-scented perfume today and forgot about it. At that point it becomes more a collection of jump-scares (ala the "creature" popping out and going Boo! for a Game Over if you aren't quick at hiding) and "how will you get out of THIS one?" moments, rather than the rising tension and "wtf was that?!" scenes early on. Though, to the developer's credit, the later sections do play out quite well, and you never truly feel so overpowered as to take down every living damned thing in your way by sheer will and bullet--and-flame-spewing femininity alone.

*glances between KotOR/KotOR2 and SWTOR* I wish other mediums would take care to do that :(

I still think it was smart of Disney to place behind them all of the EU stuff and let J.J. and his team focus upon directly following-up the original trilogy, rather than having to read through and integrate a lot of so much "fan" material that has gone down within the nearly-forty or so years since A New Hope was released. But given how open the universe as a whole is (nevermind Disney's insatiable need for MOAR MONEEEEEYYYY!!!), there's still room for an "alternative" path that takes place parallel to whatever J.J. has planned.

Kingdom Hearts universe assimilates Star Wars too.

That series is so damn awesome and trying to INTERPRET how it all can make any sense is just plain wonderful (one world is basically just a space ship and they don't find it odd?)

Yeah I know that Kingdom Hearts - Birth by Sleep tried to explain it in more detail but still.

It's one of those series that have so many fan theories and fictional works that it bursts out of its seams.

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:
Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
