So Firstly I have created backgrounds for my 3 starting characters (not important)
the 3 characters are :
The Mage
subclasses
Priest (sways to healing)
Sorcerer (sways to damage)
The Knight
subclasses
Spellblade (follows his own path of wanting to combine magic and weapons)
Knight (despite interests in magic, follows what is in his blood, knighthood)
The Marksman
subclasses
Gunner (specializes in guns and projectile weapons)
Hunter (specializes in bows and trap spells)
Each start in the same area but in different locations.
The Mage
(Arcane Tower)
The Knight
(Encampment)
the Marksman
(Wilderness)
I was originally going to make it a single character story, but I didnt want to have huge areas just for each character, and balancing later game for 3 heroes with at least 2 classes each will prove quite difficult unless I just copy and paste skills and change their gfx (I refuse to do that)
So I was going to have an intro for each person, and when you visited the other 2 places you would come across the other 2 starting characters, being able to party up together.
I dont want people to feel like there is no purpose behind your choice at the beginning (as there is changes) as people will react differently depending on who your starting choice was, and certain areas will be unlocked.
The 2 characters you don't pick will have generic names (if I find out how to make it so you can choose your characters name) and will not have as an indepth class system and such as your inital chosen character
What do you think of the above, I am doing a lot of concept work first, this way I can find out what people think, before I start creating it, having a plan for this is key so I don't get lost!
Thanks Forumers!
Edit: I am also thinking of making all the maps link together rather than have a world map, not 100% sure on this decision yet but any input for/against would also be appreciated!
