Intro's before the game starts (I'm a noob.. sorry)

First off, hey there!

Secondly.. in a more serious note, sorry for sounding like a complete and utter noob, I have little knowledge or experience with this engine, and I was wondering if anyone could help me, or kind of guide me with something I'm having trouble with, you see I'd like to insert an .AVI file into my game if possible. (It would be before the game starts, like an intro, I've already made this .AVI file, however if it's not possible to do this, It's alright)
I've tried to use the XS - Pre Title screen however I can't seem to get the jist of how to edit it to play my video file..

Sorry for being a noob.. hopefully I'll get better at this as time progresses.

The fileformat of your video needs to be in .ogv. If you can change the format, you can have a black screen trigger the movie event and then after have the same black screen triggering the Title screen I guess.

Yea, I guess so. I'm not that good at changing formats myself.. but I'm sure it should be possible (I'm using the program Sony Vegas to change fileformats on both videos and music files, however I'm not sure if It's possible to change an .avi to a .ogv there though). But I do however use some videos in my game, but they were already in the .ogv format from the start.

I used VLC Media Player to convert it and it seemed to more or less do the trick, however, I'm not quite sure how to play the intro before the title screen?

(Only if that's possible of course)

The Splash Screen Map script allows you to easily play a video before your game starts.


Just use the "play video" event command.
