I remember growing up and playing this game called Epic War 5. It's a strategy side view scroller type of game but I don't know the exact type of system it really is or I'd try to find it by myself.

Does anyone know if this is possible to make via RPG Maker MZ? And does it exist or something close to it?

Posting the video here.

EDIT: In the video, I'm talking about the battle system, itself. That means where player have to wait for each unit to spawn and then click forward to attack or retreat when clicking back as shown in the video.

first, theoretically anything is possible, because the entire code is open - it only depends on the work needed.

second, at a guess your wishes would be a lot of work and not easier.

third, it would help a lot in guessing what had been done if you would tell what in that game you consider important. duplicating parts of mechanics is a lot easier than duplicating an entire gameflow.

Will edit the post. I was thinking more on the battle system, itself. Where the armies would go against each others sideviews. Like waiting until the army is complete and then click on forward and they will move until the base/boss is defeated. I thought I had saved the time of the video but realized I didn't.

As for second... What's the point in creating something if it's too easy? I'm almost positive we'd all be bored and there'd be a lot more games. Of course, it shouldn't be too much of a hassle but me being an artist... I'm trying to find ways to improve my skills and if doing something like this is challenging, I don't mind. (Of course, not everyone would feel the same way but that's just my opinion)

Well...you clearly don't hold to that 100% or you wouldn't have purchased RPG Maker, you'd be coding your own game engine :guffaw:

Andar's point is that what you show in that video is significantly different from anything in RPG Maker's default gameplay. So while it's possible to modify, it's an extensive modification.

Unless you're coding it yourself (which I'm presuming you aren't, from the original question), the cost of commissioning plugins to make RPG Maker do this is probably several times the cost of RPG Maker to begin with.

Artist, not a "real" coder. Lol. Like coders, Artists has to "level up" in order to get better. So if they repeatedly draw the same thing over and over, never gaining any exp from other genre or type of art, they stay in the same spot. So without challenges, it'd just be boring like playing a game that's on repeat. If that makes sense. But as game developers... you're right.

Ahh. Okay. I could do something similar in Python but it's not RPG Maker which is JS. Thanks for letting me know.

Save/Load complete. Kind of. There should be trinkets or medals that fit in the empty space of the bookmarks to show progression. Was gonna post it earlier, but I couldn't link GIFs. Don't mind all of them having a style level of 000, it just means they're all nakey and don't have anything equipped.

One question-why is your user picture a shelf of greeting cards at a store? XD
Is reading: book on finding happiness through patience.
Gets: impatient.
The hypocrisy of man.
Finalized my save/load window today! I'm really happy with the results.
