Is it possible to edit conpressed game file? (RPGVXACE)

Hi.
I'm not actually new here, but I couldn't find where should I post this threat than here, and I couldn't find answer to my problem.
I have been working on one game and saved the project file on USB, while the game was compressed and published to the internet, but few days later when I wanted to access the project file, the USB was damaged, and I can't access it no more. However the game still remained and I want to edit something there.
My question is : Can you edit already compressed game and how do you get project file?

Breaking the compression would be the same as breaking encryption and only Degica can do that, any public support of piracy gets you banned here.
