Is it possible to have character move not in the straight line? And, let's say, uphill?

So, lets say I made an uphill to the map. And I want character to move uphill. 1700513934467.png
But, well, is it really possible? Won't it go just straight into the uphill, since it can move only in straight lines? 1700513986920.png
In the ideal scenario, I'd want it to move like that, so it would ascend both y and x parameter, but is it really possible? Now that I think about it, I don't recall much of stairs, that are not looking up/down, and I don't remember any uphills in rpgmaker games (not that I say there aren't any, but I haven't seen them), so yeah, I would really want to know if that's possible to achieve.

Yes, you just use "Set Movement Route" command on tab 2 and "Move upper right" (to have it like on your example). So if you want the player to move like this, you need to place event on the down of that cliff, with below priority and player touch trigger, and then set the movement so the player can go on the hill like this.

It did worked, thanks! But one more question, does that means that the whole slop will have to be covered in these events? nw_XA7CjPKQGJ.gif

If you want the player to go there "step by step", then yes, but you can also make two events (one for go up, one for go down) and create a "scene" where player goes up od down the hill, from the beginning to the end.

Edit: or use @AquaEcho's solution below.

There are plugins that will do it by region ID. Caethyril has one called CaeSlopeMove and I saw a Japaneses one on the Tkool forum.

I'm trying Caethyril one currently, and I think I do something wrong

I seem to setup it right, but it doesn't work. The character just moves through them like it's a regular tile. Altought, I didn't quite understood that one. 1700546155065.png

Wait, I believe I stupid, since I already have plugin that lets me move diagonally. And well, it does look like moving uphill I'd say. But yeah, I tried to use plugin command, and still nothing. Not sure how it's supposed to work1700563148843.pngx25XDAPfvw.gif

I've moved this thread to MZ Support (from General Discussion). Thank you.

Because this is a "how to" question, which is engine-specific. I've assumed you're using MZ. If you are using MZ, you may want to consider updating your editor. If not, let me know and I'll move this to MV Support.

Cae_SlopeMove's plugin commands are for when you want to be add/remove slopes mid-playthrough, e.g. placing a ladder to reach a roof. You already have region 90 defined as an "up" slope region by default, there is no need to use the plugin command here. Otherwise the setup looks good.

In terms of plugins, there's also this more feature-rich one by Tonbi (ported to MZ):
Similar plugins may conflict, so generally you'll want to avoid using more than one plugin for the same thing, e.g. don't use more than one "automatic slope/stair" plugin.

I've been watching videos about the videogame streamer Open Hand charity scandal, and the rabbit hole keeps getting deeper. At first it was just a lot of donated money being grossly neglected for years, and now there's a lot of money unaccounted for, which could turn this into a legitimate IRS crackdown.

I've been thinking about doing a jokey submission for the Christmas jam in which, like a cartoon special where all the characters "play" a counterpart in A Christmas Carol, my MagiCats would each play a role from the C.A. Smith story The Coming of the White Worm, with Cyprian as Evagh, Rousalie as Dooni and so forth. But in the end, I figure all my development efforts should go toward the game proper.
