So, since I seem to have issues with rpg maker 2k3, since it's ATB system seems to be not removable, I'd like to try out rpg maker mv, it seems to be more flexible too and I eventually get more access to it. The only question i have is; can I imitate the screen solutions from rpg maker 2k/3 on mv? I am a big fan of the retro styled games, and I grew up with using rpg maker 2k3, and honestly it's my prefered style. I tried to resize the window to 320x240 and 640x480 with rpg maker mv, but it looks extremely off and nothing like rpg maker 2k3.

anyone who could give me advice what I could eventually try or do?

If you want a retro style game with the sort of tiles you get in rm2k/3 I think you'll have to go with a tileset completely different to the rmmv rtp tiles. There's some very good retro stuff like that in the store, but a lot of it isn't for mv as it's a relatively new engine. You could upscale it to mv's tilesize, or do the same with the rm2k/3 rtp, which I think is legal so long as you own both engines.

Thanks for your answer! I tried to resize the tilesets wich created.. semi pleasant results for now

you know, I'd really like to imitate the 2k3 solution in terms of scaling and style and this is kind of hard for me now. the tiles used in the 2k3 game are 16x16 tiles, while rpg maker mv uses 48x48 tiles, wich is 3 times larger than the 16x16 tiles. Though I could have same results if I scale the 16x16 tiles up to 32x32. though.. rpg maker mv does not support these. I tried to use the change tile size plugin, but unfortunately it does not seem to work for me for some reason wich is kind of provoking me. I mean, I searched the tutorial up and it still does not seem to work for me and still uses the 48x48 resized ones.

I didn't actually know that there was a change tilesize plugin out there. Is it on this forum? If so you could talk to it's creator about the problem.

Yeah it's right here:

and, I finally figured out how to make it work! now the graphics resemble the rpg maker 2k3 graphics way more and I am satisfied with it

I have one question about it. Does it also affect the other parts of an tileset instead of just the ground tiles?

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
