Is it possible to loop a video for the background of a map?

Hey guys, 


I'm back with another absurd question concerning all things MV. Is it possible to play a video as the map? I know that sounds absurd, but it seems like MV would be able to handle that. Like a short 5 second movie looping over and over that the play can walk on? This seems like a cool thing for less static backgrounds. I've been trying to search for plugins but it doesn't seem to be a thing. 

Through eventing with some basic stuff like play movie, loop, it usually just crashes.

You... could. I'm 99% certain it would require a plugin, but I think before you leap to video (which would be terribad for file size and probably also for performance) you should investigate how games like Baten Kaitos did theirs.


Being the curious (and probably slightly insane) person that I am, I ripped that game right apart at one point in the past, and all those pretty, layered, animated backgrounds? Static images, animated by code. Yup, every one.


Seems well within the capabilities of MV to me. If you gotta get a plugin either way, go for the one that will give your players a better experience, IMHO.
