Hi, I've got a few RGP Maker titles but I used to use VX Ace for the most part, recently, I bought the steam version of RPG Maker MV, I like it a lot and I was hoping to just kind of... import my old VX Ace project but there is no obvious way of doing this, so, my question is this, can I import my VX Ace Prog2 in the MV and if so how?

There is a plugin by Shaz which does this.

[move]JS Plugin Requests[/move]

[mod]Please give your topics a meaningful title, one which gives an indication of the type of query you have. Queries such as "Help plz!" or "I have a problem" or "Newcomer, & I'm stuck" does not provide enough information. It's quite possible that people will just skip by it in the New Posts/New Threads thinking that's what it is. It also means that if anyone in the future has the same sort of query, they will be unable to find this and (hopefully) the solution.[/mod]

there is a single ace-script-file in the folders of MV. You can enter that script into any ace-game and run it, it will create a new folder containing those parts of the ace game that can be converted.

script commands can't be converted, and you'll need an image program to resize any non-RTP-Ace resources before you copy them into the MV-project structure together with the script output folder (that will contain all map and database elements that are not script-based)

Thank you, I'll look at this later on :)

Some scripts in ACE projects will prevent the conversion script from running. You may need to remove some or all of them first. Obviously, back up your project too before doing that.

The only script that stopped me from using it was Yanfly's Doppleganger script but there could be others.

Note, that script ONLY converts your Data folder, and not all of it.

If you have script calls in your events, common events or troops, you will have to convert those to the MV/Javascript equivalent.
You will have to convert all graphics.
You will have to find plugins to replace all of your custom scripts.

Don't expect to run the converter program and start playing your game in MV.

Well, after using the script, I loaded up MV, and the maps are broken and yes, I converted the Ace tiles used, MAP006 is so broken it crashes MV, lucky I have my notes and drawn map zones to remake the whole thing, I was hoping to save some time as the maps took a long time drawing in Ace but never mind, from scratch it is from my trusty note book.

Scripts wasn't used heavily so loosing them isn't a big deal, think I used stuff that MV can do with plugin's and learning how to do Ace things in MV isn't that differant so I'm looking forward to learning a bit more RPG Maker things.

Thank you for the help though :)

If the map is broken, then you probably didn't use the RTP much - any map using any RTP tileset would transfer without problems (I did this with chrysalis once, only a few events needed their sprites changed)

Or the map was too big - Ace allowed for maps that were very large, they had to reduce that for MV for mobile compatibility - the limit is now 250x250 tiles in MV and opening mapfiles that are larger can cause problems. Otherwise nothing should be able to really crash the editor.

And this is where you actually state the error message you're getting when it crashes, so people can help you.

But if you prefer to start over, that's okay too.

My guess is that you probably didn't follow the instructions and check the text files that were produced by the script, and that you have an event on that map that does a script call which you haven't converted. But that's purely a guess based on you providing no information about the issue.

Hello! I would like to know if there are any pluggings or any way to customize how battles look?
I was thinking that when you start the battle for it to appear the eyes of your characters and opponents sorta like Ace Attorney.
Sadly I don't know how that would be possible so I would be needing help! If you can help me in any way I would really apreciate it!
