Is Mindless Self Indulgence Scene?

This has been a running battle between my Instagram followers, so I thought I'd ask here and see what the RM community thinks. Is MSI a scene band? Additionally, what's your opinion on them? I have a playlist of their songs because it helps me concentrate when I'm drawing (I don't know why, honestly.)

According to urban dictionary:
scene bands
underground bands that are NOT screamo or screeching but an alternative rockish indie popish sound. some are acoustic and some aren't. it really varies within the band itself.

Now, an underground band means:
Underground music comprises musical genres beyond mainstream culture. Any song that is not being legally commercialized is considered underground.

Now it's up to you to find out if most of their songs are or not legally commercialized etc, making it either non or underground for the most part, and if you find it to be mostly underground then it's probably a scene band.
I never heard of them so I can't give an opinion on this on this.

Kinda but not really. I'd say they're, like, surface scene. That's if by scene we mean the entirety of underground music, not just indie rock.

Depends on whether you mean the Scott Pilgrim hipster-esque underground meaning of scene or the neon emo "rawr XD" striped hair Blood on the Dance Floor meaning of scene, really. The former, maybe, they're not unknown but hardly mainstream, and the latter I'd say also maybe, the neon colours and rock/pop/electronic/hip-hop mix is right in the scene kid wheelhouse but on the other hand some of their music is at least passable compared to the ear diarrhoea "bands" like BotDF and BrokenCYDE inflicted on the world. Probably depends on what mood I'm in and how charitable I feel towards their music at that point in time.

I meant both, I guess? But mostly neon emo "rawr XD", yeah. Finally someone calls BotDF what it is. I'm stealing the description of 'ear diahorrea' now. Haha. I hate BotDF with a fierce passion.
