Is RPG Maker MV Portable?

This has already probably confused some of you, maybe, well here's my question just rewritten.

Can I copy my entire Kadakowa (is that how it's spelled?) file onto an external hard drive or portable USB?

I ask because I'm going to a friends today, don't have a laptop, and wanna continue working on my project.

If copying doesn't work, can I install it on the hard-drive/portable USB?

The editor needs to be installed on the Computer where you want to use it, because a program is more than just the files in its folder (it also needs the registry entries in Windows or their equivalent in MacOS/Linux).
You can take the installer and your key to your friend on the conditions that you deinstall the program there when you leave again, so that he can't use your copy or licence.

Or if you have the steam Version, simply login to your steam account from his computer and have steam do the rest, that is even easier than using the installer (and your key from here doubles as steam key, so you have the steam version anyway).

Sadly, I bought the game on it's website and not steam, so I'll have to do it the first way.

No, that is what I meant with the last comment. The key that you received when purchasing on the main store doubles as a steam activation code, you have both versions.

I didn't know that. That's actually cool, saves me a bit of time when getting a new pc and needing to reinstall the program. (Although I prefer not using steam for applications like this. It would be cool to have a back-up of the program so to speak).

Now to get mad at gimp and try to edit what I need.
