Is there a way, in VX, VXAce, or MV to lower the...block? size from 32x32

I find a lot of Game boy style resources that I would love to use, but they're all so small that a single block selection in RPGMaker takes up 4 seperate blocks of the resource (I believe are usually listed at 16x16), so my question is, is it possible to lower the block selection size so that I can keep the resources original size, or is increasing the size to RPGMakers normal the only way to use those resources?

These "blocks" are called tiles if you are referring to the graphic resources and grid if you mean the arrangement on the map where you put the tiles.

You cannot alter the grid size of the engine. Your only option if you want to use 16x16 tiles is to upscale them to the size required by the engine you want to use - 32x32 for XP, VX, VX Ace and 48x48 for MV

EDIT
I have only just noticed which forum this is in.

There is a Change Tile Size plugin for MV that comes with the engine (in the additional scripts folder) that will let you lower the size of tiles. But you will also have to reduce your characters' sizes as well.

With XP, VX, VX Ace, you can't make the engine reduce the tile size. The code for that is not open and available for modification, like it is in MV. However you could just make your tileset so that it uses 4 blocks to make up a single tile (won't work for autotiles, but will for A5 and B-E), and maybe use a pixel movement script to get away from the 32x32 collisions.

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:
Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
