Is there a way to animate a sub-weapon separately from your main weapon?

Okay, so here's the system in my project:

You've got two weapons. A main weapon and a sub-weapon. The purpose of this is that your main weapon is your primary method of dealing damage while your sub-weapon is primarily for secondary effects. For example, one might specialize in lowering enemy Defense. One might poison enemies. Et cetera.

What I DON'T want is the two weapons intersecting into each other, so unless there's a way to separate them, I'm doubting that simply using Dual Wield would help this issue (ESPECIALLY since that'd allow you to equip what's intended to be a main weapon into the sub-weapon slot, and vice versa). My ongoing idea (which if you have a better one, PLEASE run it by me) is to make the sub-weapon in the Armor category. Problem with that is, I don't know how you'd set up weapon animations (via Yanfly's Battle Core) using armor.

To maybe help explain this in another way (I know my previous explanation doesn't make a whole lot of sense)...

WHAT I WANT:

-two weapons, a main weapon and a sub-weapon

-both weapon types are unique to their respective slot (i.e. no big swords in the sub-weapon slot, and no small swords in the main weapon slot)

-the basic Attack option only uses the main weapon (although having unique options for BOTH weapons would be great, too)

-both animate separately from one another depending on which is being used.

-weapon skills based on what combination of weapons you have equipped (but no intersecting weapon skills, i.e. there's no skill unique to having a sword and handgun equipped at the same time. Just sword skills and handgun skills.). I can probably work out the sub-weapon skill requirement conditions on my own, I just need to know how to animate a "weapon" from an armor slot (using Yanfly's Battle Core, of course).

WHAT I DON'T WANT:

-both weapons EVER being used at the same time for anything, ESPECIALLY your basic Attack option

-having to allow the player to go into the Equip screen during battle in order to change weapons on a whim

Can anyone help me with this?

Mmm... the second one is almost what I'm looking for, and actually achieves an additional thing I was hoping it could (namely, separating the two weapons' Attack stats). Unfortunately, there are two significant issues with it that I don't know how to work out with it.

1. I'm not sure how to make it so the basic Attack option ONLY uses the main weapon. If a character has a sword in their main hand and a gun in their off-hand, I only want them slashing with the sword, I don't want them firing off the gun too (especially since the gun I had in the character's off-hand was using the Weapon Skills plugin for a secondary effect... although that effect will probably be reworked into my weapon skill system anyway, so that's probably not worth worrying about.)

2. speaking of weapon skills, that's an issue too. When I use Yanfly's battle animations, my characters use their main weapon for skills EVEN WHEN the skill is tied to their sub-weapon. How do I get it to animate the other weapon?

Sorry if I'm being a pain, I know this isn't exactly an easy issue.

Oh, and one thing, how do I separate the two weapons in the damage formula? Skills that use the sub-weapon should use the sub-weapon Attack stat, after all.

Eh, that's all way above my paygrade man.

I just knew those two plugins because I had looked into it before, but I'm pretty much a noob at this.

Hope you find the help you need!

Ah, don't worry about it, you've already put me a step in the right direction.

Though hopefully someone comes along that can take me the rest of the way. I've seen so many topics relevant to my interests end up unresolved, and that doesn't really help anyone, you know?

Yep, I hear you.

It sucks when no one can answer our questions.

I have a question in this very same forum (JS Support) that I ended up answering myself, lol.

But yeah, these are people helping out for free, and in their spare time, so I completely understand not every question can be answered.

Ok, /rant. I'll leave this thread to let it get back on topic (also going to sleep).

Again, good luck!

Anyway, bump for potential assistance.

Hello! I would like to know if there are any pluggings or any way to customize how battles look?
I was thinking that when you start the battle for it to appear the eyes of your characters and opponents sorta like Ace Attorney.
Sadly I don't know how that would be possible so I would be needing help! If you can help me in any way I would really apreciate it!
