Im currently working on my game where you can walk around and interract with things. Im trying to make it so that the chat box along with the portrait of the player is always visable on screen when moving around. Not sure if what i explained was comprehensible but help would be nice.

The default message box (show text) directly interfere with the game interpreter. Basically any form of input are disregarded while message box are active. You can't even just modify the code since it will change lots of things.

The only way is that you have a new form of showing message. Either making a new code for message box (plugin maybe), or painstakingly using show pictures as alternative. I've seen some rpg maker game using show pictures as their basic of showing message. And that require lots of pictures...

This might be able to be done with a plugin.

I've moved this thread to JS Plugin Requests. Please be sure to post your threads in the correct forum next time. Thank you.

I think I can make that work for you.
Alternatively, you can put a picture with the same size and in same place as message window. Then you only have to show the the text with the window transparent(since the picture will be the box.

you can always place a image there while text goes over it (if you like to use images)

I'm not sure if that's what he wanted since...

because you can't control your player when show text is in the middle of being executed. I thought he wanted the dialog to be also in real time...?

.... or perhaps I'm the one who misunderstood and he just wanted the face and the box? o_O

I took everyones advices and looked for some plugins that matched my requirements. Had to install plenty of different plugins to get the thing to work. But it all worked out just as i wanted.

Thanks to all the bros and sisters for taking their time to help me out.

I know you've already got a solution, though technically you can do this using http://sumrndm.site/hud-maker/ and just set a Text Element to be equal to a variable. Then whenever you want to change the on screen text just change the variable. As a bonus you can use the Picture element or Shape element for your window.

Can't go wrong with more solutions, thank you friend.
