Hello everybody,

I own a RPG Maker VX Ace which I bought for my laptop that runs Windows 10. Unfortunately, as most of you probably knows,
Windows 10 is full of useless apps and there are so many programs running in the background that it eats up most of my CPU.
In addition, the fact that Microsoft hacks my machine without my consent to do whatever they wish has really got on my nerves so I'm planning to buy a new laptop which runs a Linux OS (e.g.: Ubuntu).

Is RPG Maker compatible with Linux?

If not, are you planning to make your software able to run on this platform as well in a near future?
If yes, when?

Most of the programs (CGI, digital art, music, writing) I use are open source and python based which means perfect for Linux
but with RPG Maker I have no clue.

I don't know if this is the place to ask this question but I couldn't find a better place to post it!
Thanks in advance.

Thanks djDarkX,
That's good to know!

I think more and more people are going to switch to Linux for the same reason...
Thanks and apologies for the late answer, here in Cambodia the connection is very unstable!

No worries and you're very welcome. Glad I could give a little insight. If you check my signature, I have a short guide on getting things running smoothly for it, including the output games.

Wonderful!
Thank you very much. I have to shop around before I get the laptop I need for a very low price so it's important to
know which kind of operating system is most suitable for the programs I intend to use.
I use a CGI program called Blender which requires a lot of ram (16-32) and powerful CPU and GPU. Unfortunately most OS
on laptops are Windows based here in Siem Reap and Apple is way too expensive for my budget - in addition, I heard they are starting to do the same thing that Microsoft does by shoving their apps down your throat...- I love the open source philosophy and I want to learn how to use Linux
to have more freedom and eventually, in a near future, start sharing some of my stuff (it's not ready yet)!
Thanks again and good luck with your projects!

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
